1. Sorry Danny I don't know this & I can't get in touch with her until the snow clears. Her phone is off now & they are snowed in. (high in the Pyrenees!) If she hasn't sorted it when I can contact her again, I will find out & would be glad of your help. Many thanks for taking the time to reply
2. I'm doing this for a member of the family who is snowed in, has no credit left on the phone & is generally fed up! She is trying to get her pc up & running using a wi fi connection (Orange I think) She managed to get her laptop connected, but after a few times, she kept getting an error message & now she can't connect either her laptop or her desktop pc. Here is the message (I think) "Impossible a demarrer ce material. Une problem de produit lors d'installation de ce material Windows ne peut pas charger le pilote de le periferique de ce material. Le pilote est peut-etre en dommage ou absente (Code 39) Cliquez sure terminee afin de demarrer une utilitaire de deppanage qui vous resoudre le problem." If anyone can help with this, I would be very grateful.
3.
Leader Price stock 'Creme Entiere, fabrique en Normandie' in white plastic 500ml bottles with red label. It is identical to british double cream (not soured). cheminot
Does this whip up really thick for use on a trifle etc? Also...Carrefour stock the Creme Professionelle in large cartons on the shelf with the evap etc.
4. If it's a Buzzard or a Falcon, they usually feed on small mammals & small birds. I have seen one take a pigeon in mid flight. I've never heard of one taking a domestic cat though. Personally, I wouldn't worry about the cats, but I'm sure that if anyone on the forum knows differently, they will let you know.
5. Hi I have an Orange livebox & am running vista. I never use Internet Explorer any more, I use Mozilla Firefox, google mail, google search engine. I had the same problems burning discs, so I downloaded    this  & have never had a problem since. Good luck
6. More info here, & some pics of a similar one that is roadworthy.... http://www.vincelewis.net/bonebike.html

8. Just as well someone caught it on camera then, because am I correct in thinking that if you rear end someone, it's assumed that you are at fault?
9. If its any comfort at all, someone in my family had big problems with pins & screws in her leg. They were hindering her progress even after eleven months, and the cold seemed to be transferred through them making movement even more difficult. She decided to have them removed & hasn't looked back since. Her mobility is greatly improved & with the help of the physio is now very active again. So good luck & all best wishes.
10. I can't believe children could act this way.  I blame the nasty video games.

12. Neither too young, too quick or idiotic, the woman car driver on the other hand...or did the biker cut her up, what do you think? http://www.metacafe.com/watch/241407/motorcyclist_gets_rear_ended/
13. Thanks for posting this lovely news Christine. It makes a change from all the sad stories we hear. The Lab looks as though he's really made himself at home, the collie looks wonderful & certainly doesn't look his age, & let's hope the lovely Beagle will get her new home very soon, she certainly looks like a beautiful, gentle friend for some lucky family. I would like to say on behalf of all of us animal lovers,a big thanks to people like yourself who devote a huge amount of time & effort to helping save these lovely animals & you all deserve a medal. We've rescued dogs in the past & they have all made the most brilliant pets. Our situation is such that we can't do this just now, but one day we're hoping to be able to share our home again with a lovely four legged friend, it's certainly poorer without them.
14. You are right of course, but I don't mind what goes into my trifle! The Caves perhaps would sell sherry, ask for Xeres. It is available from France online too.
15. Leclerc sells sherry in large bottles & small ones. Look for Madere next to the port. (i must have it in my trifle!)
16.
Given the extaordinary number of dogs needing new homes due to owners returning to the UK perhaps the wording of "A dog is for life, not just for Christmas" should be changed to A DOG IS FOR LIFE NOT TILL YOU CAN'T BE BOTHERED TO MAKE THE EFFORT TO TAKE IT WITH YOU That said, there are always situations where re-homing is necessary for really genuine reasons. My comment is not aimed at those people.
Do I go home today My family brought me home, cradled in their arms The cuddled me and smiled at me, said I was full of charm They played with me and laughed with me and showered me with toys I sure do love my family - especially the girls and boys The children loved to feed me - they gave me special treats They even let me sleep with them - all snuggled in the sheets I used to go for lots of walks - often several times a day They even fought to hold the leash - Im very proud to say These are the things I'll not forget - a cherished memory Because I now live in the pound -without my family They used to laugh and praise me - when I played with that old shoe But I didn't know the difference between the old ones and the new The kids and I would grab a rag - for hours we would tug So I thought I did the right thing when I chewed the bedroom rug They said I was out of control and would have to live outside This I did not understand although I tried and tried The walks all stopped just one by one, they said they hadn't time I wish I could change things, I wish I knew my crime My life became so lonely, in the back yard on a chain I barked and barked all day long - just to keep from going insane So they brought me to the shelter, but were embarrased to say why They say I caused an allergy - then they each kissed me goodbye If I'd only had some classes - when I was just a pup Then I would have been a better dog - when I was all grown up 'you only have one day left' I heard the worker say Does that mean I have a second chance? DO I GO HOME TODAY?
17. Unfortunately, It's not my message. I found it locally & there was no photo with it, but I might contact her & see if she can provide one.
18. This is from our area & I wondered if anyone on this forum could perhaps help? My friend is returning to the UK on Saturday as a matter of urgency. She managed to re-home one of her dogs earlier this week but still has one that needs a new home. I will be taking care of her from Saturday but cannot keep her for more than a few days. She is a white and tan 3 year old terrier cross neutered bitch microchip no 250269400004033. She has a sweet nature, loves children and other dogs but is not great around cats and chickens (hence the reason i can't keep her!) She would make an ideal family pet or companion for a retired couple. I live close to Confolens, please call me on 06 50 26 79 70 for more info. I'm hoping somebody will know somebody who'd be interested in this cute little dog as I really don't want to have to take her to a rescue kennels... Please help!
19. Then you will probably recognise at least one of these..... http://www.ncrscca.com/Funny_manuals.htm
20. and now for something completely different, or as they say in Brummie...... http://www.whoohoo.co.uk/ Two junkies inject curry instead of heroin... one ended up with a dodgy tikka and the other is in a korma.

22. Thanks Val We finally heard from family today, electric returned last evening but all are well. That's the only thing that matters.
23. If someone is taken ill & is then transported to hospital, can they choose where to go. For instance, if the Mutuelle cover only reimburses up to 100% for certain procedures, are the surgeons, consultants etc at the main hospitals normally tdc? Also, if you are taken by ambulance, would they normally take you to a private clinic or the nearest General Hospital? Our Mutuelle covers up to 200% for hospitalisation but there are others I know who only have up to 100%.
