7. Hello My kids started French school last September, they are just 7, 10 will be 11 in August and just 13.  My 10 year old is in CM2 the last year of primary school.  He is due to start college in September 2006. We are a little worried as he is not as confidant with his French as his siblings, but his teacher told us he will be fine. Its not unusual for children to be held back (redouble), an English boy in my daughters class (6eme) has redoubled this year and my daughter should be in 5eme, but due to her lack of French they put her in 6eme.  There are many French kids that have done this also, its very common to my mind and there isn't a stigma attached.  Better to move them up when they are ready, not because society says so. My kids are all very happy in their schools and have progressed at an acceptional rate, I'm sure yours will too.

9. Hello Chaps Didn't even get my question answered on the forum.  I asked Mel about how many memebers it had, still looks asthough I should be asking how many forums a member has. Who is this Arms whats his name then?  Didn't even see the posts.
10. Oh Dick I thought it was you, and I wanted to have a dance at Miki's welcome back party, but you didn't show up.  Are you trying to tell me something?
11. SB, sorry but I thought you were a woman, had a bit of a shock when I read your post, visions of a mature woman with a big old beard on. Katie, I have to say I don't like beards either, but tashes are worse, having a big old hairy caterpillar crawling across the face, sorry to those with tashes. Dick, can we still have our date on 6th June? I've already chosen my outfit.
12.
Looks like my post has been hijacked! Twinkle will send you e-mail soon.   John
Sorry John, its just I'm jealous. Can anyone help John with transport info?

You will have to recount the concert for me when you get back an I will have my cd on and I'll pretend I'm there. Where's this PM then Twinkle girl.
14. But the grass is always greener.
15. I can take th chicken Dick, its that little dog that's freaky.  Now seeing that on 6/6/2006 would be number of the beast.
16. Lori I think I may be in the same boat as you, and only see my OH every two/three weeks.  I miss mine too. Dotty
17. Naps, we're about 20 mins north of Niort, towards Pathenay. Keep the videos coming they are very funny.
18. Skye We hae done a similar thing in one of our rooms, remove the rotten wooden floor, that was directly on top of an earthen one. We had hardcore (6 inches) scalpings, the small rough stones (3 inches) then instead of sand we used sheets of foam (2 inches) this leaves a smooth service for the plastic sheeting, membrane, also extra insulation.  Then the membrane, then the concrete. Think the whole lot cost 150.00 euros, hardcore was free and this included 30.00 euros delivery.  Think the area we did was 3 x 4 metres I think.  I'm a bit hopeless with sizes, but its a rough estimate you know. Not sure if its ok to give the name of the supplier, so PM me for more details. Dotty
19. I too enjoy 2 x mothers days.  Today though I was left asleep until, wait for it 10.30am, whoohoo.  Then had coffee in bed and loads of school made cards.  To top it all the kids thought it great to bring the cats in, muddy paws and all.  We all sat in bed flicking through german satelite, as that's all we can get, with the kids telling me how much they loved me. Spent the rest to the day at my mothers, had a lovely big old roastie and played rounders.  Cool.
20. Naps That's very funny, I have just emailed it to some friends.  Where do you find stuff like that?  And where abouts in 79 are you in a rough area type of thing?  I too am in 79. Dotty
21. I would also like to applaud Dick for apologising.  Its good to have debates like these and there are bound to be differences of opinion.  Dick 'you the man'  sorry I have been watching one of my kids dvd's. By the way, it has nothing to do with Mother's day, just when I read this thread earlier today I had just been given lots of homemade cards by the kids and felt all lovey in side. [:)]
22. Sorry Dick, but I think you are being a little unfair.  Whilst it is natural for the snake to eat the birds, it doesn't necessarily mean one has to like it.  As Christine said she wasn't even there, just retelling the story.  I don't think there is anything wrong in asking why we choose one thing over another, in fact its very interesting, but I feel your post was a little accusational. Sorry just my opinion and maybe the way I read it is different to how it was meant.  Perhaps we should all reread our posts to see if we can make them less hostile, after all its mothers day. [:D]
23. Christine I think I would probably do the same.  Don't feel bad that you made a choice, I'm sure women, or at least most women would react in the same way.  You saw the birds as the helpless ones and you wanted to give them a chance.  There is nothing wrong with that in my eyes. We have two cats, we got them primarily to help keep down the vermin.  However, if they are stalking birds I always shoo the birds away.  If they catch mice I hate that too, but I have to walk away, other wise I would prize the things from their mouths and set them free.
