  1. I have started the ball rolling - we'll have to sit tight and see what kind of souls mookys neighbours are. Stay tuned[:)]
  2. Could a lovely kind mod turn Harry the right way up please?[kiss]
  3. I did get your PM and have replied.  I shall see if I can do something to get back your lovely Harry tomorrow.  If not I'm sure Frenchies kind offer of going around to your neighbour to explain in person is a good plan B. Fingers crossed everyone[:)]
  4. I can't get e-mails mooky.  I changed e-mail address a while ago and the Living France software doesn't accept my new address.  You have to PM me.  Just press the PM box at the bottom of the screen - fill in a title in the subject box and write your message in the big box.
  5. mooky! Can you find your neighbours phone number in the telephone directory?  If you can then send it to me via a PM and I will call them and explain your story to them.  Don't worry I will be polite and won't cause you any problems with them.  I can be very persuasive.
  6. I found this - it's NOT a newspaprer article and I'm certainly not interested in it but I'm sure someone will find it amusing - or not. http://grumpyoldgits.org/default.aspx
  7. If my ironing reappears I'll have a look in the pile for your cat Clair! Just found out that the project leader of the LHC, Dr Lyndon Evans is a Valleys boy - so that explains while we're still here then[:)]
  8. Yippee!!! We're still here!  I couldn't log on 'til now - that freaked me out for a while.  My ironing pile has disappeared - I think it must have been one of the first things to be sucked into the black hole and managed to block it up.  My bad housekeeping has saved the planet[:)]
  9. I have a ton of ironing to do but have made the wise decision of waiting until AFTER 9.30am tomorrow to see if I really need to do it or not.
  10. Wonderful news!  You're both lucky dabs to have each other[:)]
  11. Don't forget that at 9.30 am tomorrow morning when they turn the thing on you can watch it on their webcam http://indico.cern.ch/conferenceDisplay.py?confId=40120
  12. There are two stories about what the Paris-Brest was named after.  One is that it was named in honour of a bicycle race that went from Paris to Brest and back to Paris in 1892 and another tells of a patissier cook who would bake it on the train ride from Paris to Brest.  The journey took 5 hours and so he had the time to cook it and the passengers had time to enjoy it too in their carriage. Excuse me for being so informative - I don't know what's wrong with me[:)]
  13. I really believed that I would stay on and impress my audience[:)] I also still believe in fairy tales[:D] Let us know how the story ends.
  14. My music teacher Mrs. Price who made me soloist in the school choir when I started comprehenive school.  She gave me so much confidence in myself and would praise me infront of the whole class and really made me feel special.  I was the eldest of of 4 girls and helped my mother at home when she got divorced.  I was so busy with my little sisters there was never time for me to do much for myself.  The choir and the concerts we performed was a pedestal for me and somewhere I could express myself and feel so much warmth and respect from the people listening to me sing.  She really believed in me. My grandmother who was the person who spoke about me to Mrs Price in the first place. My daughter for her courage. My youngest sister who has raised her daughter single handed and sings out of tune with the greatest of passion[:)] My mother who always made sure we had a proper summer holiday whatever.
  15. Is this it? http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=1229559
  16. Yesterday me and a group of good friends were enjoying a giant paella 'al fresco' and the wine was a flowing the way I like it[:)]  Some of the kids had set up a ramp on the sloping part of the garden and were skateboarding down it.  Well - you've guessed- off came the heels and I jumped onboard for the ride of my life much to my daughters embarrassment and yep! off I came skirt hitched up to my chin and today I have a very bad cut on my foot.  [:$] Anybody else still think they can do the same things they did a couple of decades ago?
  17. My little girl had an operation at the beginning of July and I know that it's hell while you're in the eye of the storm but you will both come through it in time and like us - just 2 months later - will feel it was such a long time ago that things were so bad. Thinking of you both x
  18. Just popped on in between a game of Cluedo and a scary film and there you are again oh Furry one. If you can't get Frenchie smiling - nothing will.[kiss]
  19. If you read through the other forum thread you will be able to get a good idea of what was said.  Then I don't have to PM you a naughty word[:$]
  20. Somebody started a thread here      http://forum.wordreference.com/showthread.php?t=853758    asking what con means and it got locked! You can therefore assume that if we tell you here we'll get into trouble.  I will PM you if you like - but please don't be offended.[:)]
