1. I wish designers would think of female steelie wearers.  I have searched and searched for a more elegant design than my current pair of riggers.  No chance [:(]
2. I reckon she should dance on the coffee table for him.  That should point him in the right direction.
3. Hello Jimmy,  that is nice of you.  We have quite a few French people on the Forum who supply invaluable information as well as a pile of Brits who, we all know are a load of know it alls. [:D]
4.
I'm here but have promised to spend the evening with my husband who wants me to watch a French film about some bloke who's bi-sexual and his wife doesn't know about it.  I'm falling asleep already just thinking about it! Have a nice time girls maybe I'll see you later[:)]
That is strange Twinks, I really think you should be asking him if there is any hidden agenda here............Don't you?
5. I am indeed Pads.  Mr. Twinks is in stage with this band in a village fete and some mates from my  town are supporting them so that will be fun.  Me, Twinks and Mr JK will be sitting with the French, not the English.[Www][:D]
6. Doesnt it just grate you Twinks..............Its like being back in the moyen ages isnt it?
7. Shift up Pads..... Mine's a Flaming Lambourgini!!  Quoi de neuf? [:D]
8. But saying all that, Paris is great!![:D]  I was just having a little snoop around the dicey areas.  Well, a bit of culture I thought. [:-))] Woot woot!! [:D]  Anyway, I am still alive. Oh!! another thing.  Paris have given me a big infested foot.
9. Pads, you cannot give as good back.  These people carry knives and all sorts.  That is what I find very difficult is the injustice where you get treated like this but have to keep your mouth shut or end up in hospital.[:@][:@] and double [:@].  Scum scum scum!!!! [:@]
10.
Thanks for the offer! I'd love to! [:D] I'm also supposed to go to Paris to help Just Katie... [Www]
I dont think you would like to come to Paris with me Clair.  I have had abuse shouted at me on the train from the airport for simply speaking English.  My daughter and her friends have been hissed at by girls of the same age and called effing b itches and some guy in a suit tried dragging my mate out of a taxi then slapped her around the head.  City life eh?  [:@] Tell you what, you can come and see me when I get my house in the Tarn done up.  It is nicer there [:)]
11. I think all teenagers are different Steven.  My son would never, ever have agreed coming to France at that age.  However, my daughter will be finishing her GCSEs this year and, work and family commitments take me to Paris to join my husband and son.  We are placing her in an international school and, she is really looking forward to the 'adventure'....horses for courses I say.  (Or is it courses for horses? [blink]...................Anyway!!
12. Hi Steven and welcome to the forum.  It is quite likely that there is an international school in Marseille as it is one of the major cities in France.  However, these are not cheap.  Another option would be a billingual school which would be far cheaper.  Your third option would be a French state school.  However, schooling a teenager in France is not without its problems.  If you use the search option in this forum, you will see where this topic has previously been discussed and will learn from the experiences of others.  Good luck.
13. Jaq, I am really so happy for you.  He really looks like a lovely dog.  How is he getting along with your alpha boy?  Dont forget, your hubby, you owe him a huge favour!![:D]
14. I am thinking of doing the same thing this year.  My husband has always wanted to travel down the eastern border, maybe pop into Luxemburg and Germany then down through Austria and pop out the otherside into Italy. I would welcome any suggestions on the lovely towns we could visit in Eastern France.
15. I really hope you get a home for Joy.  He looks so inquisitive and intelligent.  Isn't he an Ibizan Hound?
16. I never implied that the armys medics would discriminate against anyone.  I just think that it is a bit ironic that that although Saddam was a tyrant and much blood was spilled under his leadership, things are much worse since the invasion.  I think the fact that this campaign is painting such a wonder picture of our medics, who are no doubt doing a wonderful job treating people,  people who have been injured as a result of the invasion, is without doubt propaganda.
17.
For some reason I thought that the place where the dog was unhappy was a vets. I have seen this many times. It seems to be a combination of the slippery floor and the smell of vets (like me and the smell of hospitals)
Yes, I have seen this ad many times too because I live in UK.  However, I think it is a wonderful idea to put the best UK ads on the forum to share with those in France.  Twinkle came home to Wales at christmas and adored the Cadbury gorilla advert, which had be broadcast for 6 months.  I was sick of it by then but I think she loved it so much, she posted it on the forum to share. There is a really awful 'advert' out at the moment.  I have tried to post it on the forum but cannot find it at the moment.  It advertises army recruitment.  It shows an Iraqi man in an army hospital with his identity hidden.  He speaks his story as to why he has been hospitalised and, goes on to say how wonderful the British Army Medics are in treating him. Do people really fall for this kind of propaganda these days?
18. Albert, would I be rude in asking what your Gypsy origin is?
19. I love that for an answer Albert. [:-))]  I hope you dont give him money.  Why on earth doesnt he get a job?  Or come back home to Wales?  The major cities of France are swarmed with beggars and,I dont mean homeless people, many of whom could be hospitalised, I mean beggars who are healthy enough to get on the shovel. I am sorry but they really wind me up.  I dont find it half as bad in UK perhaps we are less tolerant here because we know that there are plenty of jobs available for those who choose to work.
20. Worth reading for the comments of the Americans.  I really hate their tv comedy but think they are so outrageously funny on the face to face.  I dont get it.[blink] Oh. Nice to see you back BB [:)]
21.
Sorry to cause any confusion. This (and the earlier comment) is actually Albert the InfoGipsy squatting on Libellule's sign-in. We've known each other for nearly 40 years. As the other side of the coin from nectarines little rant, there are many UK cases where Roma have bought land as occasional bases but are not allowed to bring their caravans onto their own land. A well-known case is at Stow on the Wold. At the annual horse fair this leads to long lines of vardos along the roadside when they could quite easily be on a large field actually owned by a gipsy.
But Albert, that law applies to us all. We cant just buy land and do as we please on it, we apply for planning permission and, if this was not applied for beforehand then that is their fault. Why do we tolerate so many immigrant gypsies who come to a country simply to beg?  If I move to a foreign land, I would line myself up with a job first.
