  1. I am not technical in the least but when I have time between my work, I would be very happy to post details on the forums. I would be honoured to be Rowan's assistant. As I said I'm not technical but I can manage a photobucket link. [:)]
  2. I think it was the day Hoddy mentioned, July 6. It is fantastic! [:D]
  3. Bella, what a perfect name, gorgeous! Well done. [:)]
  4. Amanda61, what I think couldn't be printed either but if I experienced first hand regularly I am sure I would be saying it! I should have said all as well. Merlin, Jouals, Sue at Poorpaws and of course Christine that I have always called an angel for the so many poor dogs she has helped that I have even seen her help here on the forum over the many years. But dear Rowan please know if you want to rant you have at least my 100% support!
  5. Rowan, I sadly don't give my time and my days to the SPA in our area. I have to say I don't think I would have the strength to do so even if I could. I only visited and it broke my heart seeing all the poor dogs wasting away waiting for a family to notice them. I cannot even bare to think of what goes on behind the scenes. At Bergerac they had the one big area with the no hoper's and a lovely pregnant dog because they can't be bothered separating them.[:(] I know if I were you (which I could only ever aspire to be) and was giving my time regularly to the SPA, I would be ranting and raving every day (probably worse and probably would be banned from the forum!) particularly about the evil cruel people that abandon their dogs and worse. By the way, I am sure there are very rare occasions where there is some sort of family tragedy and there is no other option but this would be a very small percentage. Those in that situation I am sure would understand the disgust at the former. Well done you for making a difference to those poor souls you touch at the Carcassonne SPA. Even those that have a bad outcome at least they have been touched by a gentle caring human at some stage in their life because of you.
  6. But is there a way of knowing that superior is delivered and not normal fuel?
  7. I just paid 71.5 TTC last week for 1500 litres for superior. I have asked this before but does anyone know if there is a way of knowing that it is superior versus normal fuel?
  8. Probably nothing to do with Moonpig at all.  I once received a Christmas card from a friend that lives in the Loire and I received it the following June! I have found the French postal service where we are just awful. I have had so many things go missing, whether sending or receiving. I now feel very uncomfortable about using ordinary post. I sent a cheque to someone yesterday and will worry about them receiving it. I sent some bank papers over a month ago that has gone missing and now will try to only use recorded delivery. Just loathe to use recorded delivery just to send someone a cheque. [:(]  I will never complain about the royal mail again!

Chancer, unfortunately I think the point has been made.

It will be interesting to see PPP's response. Perhaps he has only been once and was even possibly dragged there. In any case, it does appear he enjoys describing the details and discussing. By the way Chancer, I never use the term "one" when speaking but didn't want you to take it personally as one does. [:)]

Why would someone attend these "events" therefore support them, not enjoy them? If I were to pay and attend many dog fights, one would assume I enjoyed them, I wouldn't have to state that enjoyment was part of it.

Oh please!! Read from the beginning Chancer. Don't kid yourself.

Perhaps a new thread should be started on what a wonderful person he is considering that he started this thread and the inhumane cruelty involved in this so called sport he so enjoys.
  14. It is so sad that helping this poor dog needs to be a covert operation! I would imagine that it is the same with all the dogs at this refuge. It would be interesting to see how many actually are getting homed versus being killed. [:(]
  15. On behalf of Polly, I have seen some of her posts and know she is a caring person. I don't want to speak for Polly but perhaps as with me when you see a post like this, it is just so heart breaking and there was an emotional response. I have to admit I was thinking what Polly wrote. I think given that there have been so many recent tragic stories about people going back to the UK and abandoning their dogs and worse many being killed, it is easy to jump to a snap conclusion. Seeing the photo of this dog just pulls at the heartstrings even more. [:(] As discovered, it obviously isn't the case with the OP and this lovely little dog. Just hope she can find a loving home soon.
  16. It really is sickening that a refuge that is meant to help these poor poor dogs and the woman in charge is only bringing them more misery. She is obviously a paid employee? [:(]
  17. Is there any update on this poor fellow. I know it is a long shot but there is someone on the TF forum looking for a Jack Russell or Fox Terrier.

I sadly agree that anyone that could take pleasure in watching a slow cruel death of an animal would get no sympathy from me if they were injured or was even subjected to the same cruel slow death while "enjoying" the carnage. However, there was a 10 year old injured. How can a child be allowed to see such a terrible thing to begin with? [:@] I think the parents should be pts.
  19. It is amazing (and awful at the same time) but how in the world did they film this?!! http://www.flixxy.com/bear-animal-nature-film.htm
  20. It is heartbreaking to see someone willing and wanting to help this poor dog being refused to help him. I hope someone in region 46 sees this soon. [:(]
  21. Will, would this not be considered a vice caché? I would think that the seller must have known about this and it does seem strange that something of this magnitude wasn't picked up by the Notaire. [8-)]
  22. Congratulations Pauline! I look forward to the photos. [:)]
  23. Thank you Just John. I think that the mixture that they are using here is with chaux aimos because they have bags of hydrated lime that they use to mix it.
  24. Théiére, that is interesting, I have never heard of that, I thought it was called badigeon. Does anyone know the difference between badigeon and chaux aimos? [8-)]
  25. Sorry, it has been a while since I used it and it was just for me when I was in France for a period and needed to find insurance to cover me. I am a UK resident so did not look into outside EU conditions. Hope OP finds a solution.
