1.
At the end of the day does it really matter, surely it's all about how an individual sees a particular situation. T
No, it isn't. On here, it's about people posting stuff, wildly exaggerated claims which reflect badly on minority groups in society, and not providing the slightest scrap of evidence to back up their claims.. These posters will never, ever, show me the law that has banned Nativity Plays, Gollys, Christmas Carols Singers, in fact Christmas...they will never, ever,  show me the Governments role in 'yielding' to the 'demands' of Muslims, of policies which 'throw away' or in other ways try to 'get rid of' our heritage.
 2.
But if it happened in the UK what would have happened, remember this is the same country where the schools were falling over themselves to ban the nativity this christmas, I think I know the answer. Then the press would hear about it, report it and hey presto the thugs again think they have a legitimate target.
OMG I think my head is about to explode. No one, no school, no Government Policy, has sought to BAN Nativity Plays. Some Heads have decided to do different things. That is all they have done. How does that translate into people even thinking they have a 'legitimate target?
 3.
Jesus tresco, how did you get the F word past the Naughty Word Police? I can never do it [:D]
Ooops, sorry. [:$] Not for the first time I thought it would get asterixed out. Never trust the swear-word software.[;-)]
 4.
...Unfortunately for those seeking to blame Britain's migrant population, the student was Polish and the yobs were Brits, and it appeared that the crime for which he was being beaten up was being Polish. It's a funny old world, eh?
Yah[:'(] 'He kicks me and bellows: "This is it, right? You've got two weeks to get them f*****g Polish out the house or I'm gonna burn it down! Get it?" As I stand there bleeding, he points at me and says, "You're not bleeding" and launches into a tirade about how "these Polish" are "coming here and taking over". Turning to go, he points back at me and says, "I'm serious about them Polish - get them out!" http://www.guardian.co.uk/crime/article/0,,2235240,00.html
 5.
Feel free to use mine...
You put me to shame Cat. The Great British traditions of 'fair play' and 'offering a helping hand to those in need' are alive and well.[:)] And yes, of course we can double up on my wall Panda. Poor Coops keboard must be absolutely trashed by now.[;-)]
 6.
Now where are we with that wall Benjamin?
That wall was mine, Panda. No room left, I'm afraid.[:D]
 7.
...Marton, do you understand these Stats? If so could you explain them to prove that you do? You may think that they support your anti immigrant ''freeloader'' argument, but when you really understand them, they don't. We've seen them before.
Indeed we have, again, courtesy of Marton. http://www.completefrance.com/cs/forums/1/1053069/ShowPost.aspx#1053069 On that occasion it was Hagar who pointed out the problems with them, but his post was ignored/fell on deaf ears...[Www]
 8.
That there are reports of supposed foolish actions by a small number of confused public officials is not an indication that the government is throwing away our heritage.
There is some free space on the wall I'm banging my head against regarding this point, Mr Kent. I'll keep it for you just in case.[:)]
 9. Just to make it easier for people http://uk.reuters.com/article/topNews/idUKL088825820080108 I agree it's very annoying to be thinking 'I'm flying for 1p' only to find it's going to cost £38.[;-)] The charge that annoys me most is having to pay for using a credit card, when I'm NOT. I have never found a way round this bit of sneakiness.
 10.
The origianl post was about schools cancelling nativity plays and changing various customs so as to not offend anyone.
This was the original post.
Nativity plays banned, Xmas back instead of Christmas, changing carols to suit the multi cultural society but  when a teacher substitutes a "partridge in a pear tree " for "corncrake in a palm tree" because she doesn't want to step on any toes, then that, for me, is the end.  When are true Brits in Britain going to get some backbone and declare enough is enough.[:@]
No real evidence was provided to support these claims.
I expect schools would only do this on an order from the department of education, which in turn acts on government policies.
(my italics) No, you are wrong about that.
...By the way, the clumsy way the government is trying to force muliculturism on the UK as failing both ways with the muslims also feeling marginalised by the policies, for example see http://www.policyexchange.org.uk/images/libimages/243.pdf
Ah yes. That report was the source of a few juicy headlines at the time, but it was found somewhat lacking when it came down to some of  its 'results' and the conclusions  that flowed from them. No information about the methodology used (or even the questions asked) was released, despite requests, so it's impossible for anyone to judge the validity of the conclusions they arrived at. We just have to take their word for it. 'They', being the people who were also involved in another debacle. This time the report was titled The Hijacking of British Islam. Those 'independent' Think Tank People got into yet another little scrape with their 'methodology'. They threatened to punish Newsnight with the full weight of the law, but so far they haven't got around to it. I wonder why? You can read a little about it here http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/theeditors/2007/12/disastrous__misjudgement.html
 11.
Tresco Sorry change that to read policies not policy.
OK. [:)] Please can you point me to Government policies 'of disregarding our heritage to prevent from offending anyone...'
 12. Oakbri, there were only 5 years during which prescriptions were ever free for all - for 3 years after the inception of the NHS, and for a couple of years in the 1960's. A few pages back, I posted a reply to Gluestick which I quote here.

...Of course there are many Muslims in France: that said, however, they are not able to bend government's will to their cause in the way they have certainly achieved this in the UK.
(My bold) How have Muslims in Britain bent the Governments will to their cause?
I never got a reply but I'll try again as you've made a similar assertion here;
...I firmly believe that the government policy of disregarding our heritage to prevent from offending anyone is actually breeding resentment and dividing people even further.
Please can you point me in the direction of the Government policy to which you refer?
 13.
...Of course there are many Muslims in France: that said, however, they are not able to bend government's will to their cause in the way they have certainly achieved this in the UK.
(My bold) How have Muslims in Britain bent the Governments will to their cause?
 14. Kittie, how nice to see you! That's because one lost a toe...and the other lost a glass eye. I can't find it either.... But my 'And Finally...' moment was something entirely different...[:-))]
 15.
I have been kissed by Paul McCartney! [+o(]
Blimey, how awful. [:'(] I rejected him...quite fierecly if I recall correctly. Does that count?[:-))] I've given up telling my Reggie Bosanquet 'And Finally...' moment.
 16.
Would you like me to take some of them carps off yer hands?
Yes Mr Nix, if you would. Carp are Calming...I find.[:D]
 17.
...a few weeks ago there was the corpse of  an old man taken out of a flat 200 metres from me , who had died of gangrene in his legs, which meant that he couldn't get out..and the landlord didn't need to call for the rent as it was paid directly from the CAF.
What? Someone vulnerable, who wasn't in touch with  the services they needed in France? You must be mad. That never, ever happens here.[;-)]
 18.
I've never seen a rabbit wearing glasses!...
There's a first time for everything. Overkoyed indeed. It's the final straw.[:$][:D]
 19.
...Grand words Mrs Tresco[:)] Painterly, overkoyed and trees are all very lovely!
I know!![:D] Now, which of us needs spectagoggles first? S'probably me. [:D] I've just checked and it's you!!![:-))] Oh no it isn't...it's me![:$][:D]
 20.
I always forget to take my camera with me, but this one was taken out of my kitchen window (which I will get around to cleaning one day).  Had to jiggle about with the brightness on my camera programme, but at least it's not just a silhouette now.
You did really well. The trees and background foliage/plant life look very painterly. I would be overjoyed If I'd taken it. I would be even more overkoyed if I'd seen it out of my kichen window.[:)]
 21.
...As I was installing my underground electric flooring [;-)] (Hi Tresco!)...
Hello Twinks.[:)] I often think about the underfloor heating I wish I had enstalled. No one's perfect, eh?
 22.
...(Imagine full grown fairy falling over in shock!)
It's another good thing to come out of this ban. All us smokers (sorry everyone) are enjoying seeing fairies swooning everywhere.[:)]
 23.
It is a collection of 4 videos, a couple of which, although 8 mins in length, took far longer due to the stopping and starting (why do some videos do that?)
Weedon, I have a lesser version of Broadband. Some, but by no means all Youtube videos do this to me. I believe the technical term is 'buffering'.[;-)] If a video does this I do something else for a while, let it finish, and then click 'replay' and it always works perfectly 2nd time round. I wish I could still talk to my dad about his war time experiences...and the photos...no one can identify the people (some of whom died as young men) and places in them now.[:(]
 24.
Hi Tresco... this maybe a stupid question but why do you keep salt in each room?  Is it for condensation? [:)]
It sucks up moisture...or something.[:$] [:D]
 25.
The way of life is just so much better than in the multicultural, politically correct, GB.]
The very things I miss...[blink]
