  1. So, Les, Why is it so important to put small plates on your bike? Don't tell us it's because they look better. Putting small plates on your bike just makes you a ready target for any plod who wakes up in a bad mood.
  2. Hi folks We are about 15 miles or so from Gorron Let us know when you get your bike up and running. You can also find out about other bikers in your area by contacting 'bikeclubfrance.com' It has around 110 members from different parts of France. We  know of about another 6 or 7 active riders not too far from you who belong to the club. Put a reminder in your calender for their 'national rallye' in Brittany in June 2008 Hope to catch up with you in the New Year
  3. New this year,  an English speaking website and forum for motor bikers in France that might be of interest to you guys and girls. www.bikeclubfrance.com Regards Lin & Mike
  4. Hi Simon When we needed to get our BM's re-registered we went to our nearest BMW dealer and they sorted out all the certificates and carried out any necessary adjustments. So once you are over here it might well be easier to contact your local Kwak dealer and see if they can do the same for you. We used to live near Northampton before we moved over here, where abouts are you and where are you moving to? Good luck
  5. Yep, sounds good to us   The old fella don't get out on his bike too much and I'm sure he'll be glad of the company   Are you  based in France or the UK?
  6. Hi folks,  Anyone in or near the Mayenne/Ernée area who might be up for the odd rideout
  7. Thinking of starting B&B  for bikers? If you expect to rely on it to survive you'd best check the market. There are a lot of folks offering the same service to what is becoming a limited marktet, and no, although I'm a biker I'm not running gites or B&B but I know lots of folks who are and they always seem to be moaning that there's not been a lot of business around for the last few years;
  8. You can buy a bit of kit from most car spares shops. It comes in two parts, one for each side of the vehicle. It's quite small and unobtrusive but at speeds over 50kph it gives out high pitch whistle that is supposed to frighten beasties off. After a few problems last year we bought some for both our bikes and car. So far so good. They cost about 10€ a set
  9. I've just started bottling home grown fruit/veg using a French sterilisateur. I have a very old recipe book donated by my French neighbour. It only gives timings for 1 litre bottles though. Can anyone help with info on times for using smaller bottles. My french language is not good enough to make myself understood with my neighbour as to exactly what information I'm looking for. Linda
