We have been to Biarritz in December and yes it is warmer than here (Deux Sevres) but no guarantee. Nice is much better but a far trek from the Vienne. [8-|]

I am sure you will be inundated with replies from 'website designers'! Unfortunatley many are people who have knowledge of computers (not nec, macs) that run software that does all the work..and not particularly good. I was a graphic designer, but HATE COMPUTERS...so I can not help, but I know of a dutch lady who is very competent. Probably cost you min 700-1000. Contact me if you would like her email.

We purchased the 'pink fluffy tree' variety a few months ago, dug hole, removed rocks, compost and fed well. Few weeks after it was attacked by small white mites (never seen before) which munched through leaves! Sprayed to kill the mites. Now it is looking very sick with pale green/yellow leaves. Any ideas? Hope it did not require sandy, poor soil and no feed!

Has anyone ever been prescribed amoxicilline-acide clavulanique? The time I suffered gastric enteritus (last year) I had no reaction...this time after a bout of viral vertigo followed by a very painful ear infection I was prescribed AAC but during the 10 days of prescription it was very painful to take hot food or drink, I lost the use of my taste buds and suffered sores around my mouth. Even now after three weeks I have little saliva and wine tastes disgusting (boo hoo)[:(] all the doctor prescribed was cream for the sore. I did have to take this soluble powder with painkillers. thanks

You actually sound sensible! Word of advice...don't create another gite business as it is saturation point here in the Poitou Charentes. You will find many gites for sale for various reasons some at knock down prices. We enjoy being an owner and have increased bookings from 7 weeks in one gite to 44 this year between the two. We have no pension to financially cushion us so making a success is obligatory. Choose the location well, advertise, spend at least £500 in the first year, choose a good website designer to build you a site, be prepared to work, and smile.....all the time! Bonne Chance    

I guess it all depends  where you intend to start this business. Paris may work but here in the Deux Sevres...forget it! In the 6 years we have lived here I have never heard either locals or fellow brits suggesting they require such a service. Plus as you mentioned difficulties associated with medically related services. Bonne chance!   

We are not selling but if anyone was intested in buying our house and two gites in the future we would show them 43 weeks booking this season so far by producing all the booking forms going back 6 years plus the guests books remarks. If they can not give you any information then negotiate a price for 'not an up and running gite business'....and take your chance like we did!! www.le-tilleul.com    

Sound like tennis elbow[:(] the best result for me was a steroid injection (feels like being kicked by a horse when the injection goes in) but you do finally get relief.....I have had two over the last 10 years but I think they only allow three in total...hence no more renovating for me![:D]

Where have you got this information re 10 people?? We have a run a very successful gite business for 6 years and have offered meals in the farmhouse but had few requests from our gite guests. Guests prefer to eat in French restaurants, run by French people or they cater for themselves. www.le-tilleul.com

I can not remember exactly what we were talking about on previous occasions but this week I had just done a deal with a woman when purchasing a caravan that she was selling on behalf of her cousin! It seemed as the deal was done....then she did it! I must admit the caravan has not been delivered yet![:(]
