  1. Dear Belinda, I have just cried for the first time in ages (actually since we lost our beloved cat over here to a dog). I'm so so sorry. And thank you for the warning. We have two lovely labradors and would be feeling the same as you are now if we lost them. It will take time, but you will feel better soon. Anne
  2. I can recommend Coq and Bull (going mad in Normandy) but Ian Merrill. Read the whole book in a day and even hubby is reading it now which is a first.
  3. I used AGF, mans name is Patrice RIEGLER email: [email protected] I paid about 150 for the year Hope this helps
  4. Decided to take kitty's to vets after all and now can say that they are thriving happily, playing around with the dogs etc. They are taking some kind of antibiotics which are obviously working. Just wish I knew how to post a picture of them on here!!
  5. My Mother in Law has a house in Dinan centre, would you like her contact details?
  6. I resuced two kittens from a French man who was about to go home and strangle them and have now had them for just over a week. Since i've had them they have had the runs. I tried just giving them water and dried food, that didn't work, so i tried them on just milk and that didnt work either. I spoke to another forum member on the telephone and she suggested that i try them on plain boiled rice and to also post here for some answers. Should I be alarmed yet and take them to the vets or is this normal for 6 week old kittens?
  7. Hi Judy Its a very good idea. Maybe you could sell at the local markets. I even thought of it myself as everytime i go back to the Uk, I find myself going into Clintons and spending a fortune trying to get all the cards at once. Some friends though have said they like getting french cards but they haven't a clue what they say!! Plus I think the cards here are very expensive for what they are and they're very few and far between. You could even do mail order. I'd buy from you. Anne
  8. Well done, you must be dead proud!! It doesn't seem that long ago that we were in Primark looking for football clothes for your boys!! Hope to see you soon and hope you are all well. Anne
  9. What kind of goats are they?
  10. Someone please help me!! I've created a website using the above and have loaded it onto the WWW using Terrapin FTP. I now need to update my site (and will need to on a regular basis) but don't know how to do it. When I open Frontpage my site is no longer available so am assuming that I need to do this through Terrapin. Any clues anyone?

    Crazy Dog

Can anybody enlighten me. Last night, about 10.30 my normally calm labrador started barking at something and she was really going for it. Now I'm here alone at the moment so was very concerned. She kept running up to the front door as if to say something was out there. Now it was very dark so I couldn't see a thing, our neighbour had borrowed our torch to walk home at the weekend so didn't have a clue what it was. Anyhow, finally managed to get her indoors after much coaxing and when she came in she was very very weird. She was very frightened of me at first and was cowering in the corner, then she got a bit angry and was growling at me. A moth came in and she ran away as if it was something awful. Even our puppy, who she usually plays with for hours on end was scared of her. It was like she was hallucinating, her eyes were all over the place and she was running around in circles, she even managed to get under my duvet when I went to the loo, which is also strange as she never gets underneath it. Now, a few years ago we were having a bbq with our neighbours when one of their dogs licked a toad, our neighbour panicked and put his face under a cold tap straight away and said that the poison sends dogs crazy. Could it have been a toad? Has anybody else experienced this or have I just got a completely mad dog?
  14. Would more than likely be Dinard (Ryanair) and probably about an hour and a half to get there. We are a 20 minute drive from St Hilaire and we use this route all the time, in fact they are having a very good sale at the moment www.ryanair.co.uk Hope this helps Annabell
  15. I took a long drive yesterday and got lost a few times. If you go off the beaten track you'll find plenty of typical french towns and villages. I live here permanently now and I absolutely love the countryside, the friendliness of the passing farmers etc. I think you should try again.
  16. Just to let you know. I insured the car today with no problems whatsoever re the English plates. In fact I was totally shocked. In England our car insurance was 2,500 a year. Here its just 500.
