1. I will second that C they work!! I was told that they see their distorted reflection in them and don't like it. I also find that a well placed stone from my catapult, about a foot away from them is quite effective too. Did you know that a cat can go from stationary to about 60mph in about 1/4 second under those circumstances [6] We also have several ultra sonic jobbies that seem to work. You can get them off Amazon.
2. Ah, now you are bringing the power facter into this and the inductive losses caused by a power facter of less than 1 can be corrected by a capacitive load. But that apart you don't get very much in the way of AC in a car init [blink] And if you try it with 3ø then it can get complicated especially if the phases are not ballanced.
3. In my post I said "The higher the resistance with a constant current + lower amperage". That should of course have been voltage! I agree whole heartdly with you Ernie. A higher resistance can not possibly cause a higher current with a fixed voltage. Ohns law is totally correct. I had it drilled into me when I joined the R.A.F. as a Boy Entrant airvraft electricition and further so when I did my 1 year Fitters course to become a Junior Techniction. V over IR is set in stone [geek]
4. If you arte thinking of a lower rated model then I would either get a good book or a Kindle to read while you are waiting [:-))]
5. I would be careful about what colour you choose? Some Mairies are very particular about you changing the colour of gates, shutters, etc. and they have been know to make the owner change back to the original colour. We have wooden ones and one of them has some rot in the orner, but I will just replace the effected bits. We find that they are very good at keeping the heat out in summer and in in winter. A friend has just replaced with aly jobbies and the fittings have pulled the screws out of the aly foil that they are made of and they weren't cheap ones either. Be a bit careful about using UK paint if you are down south at all. I phoned the dulux tech line a few years back abd asked what the difference is between the UK and French paints is and he told me that they are formulated differently to take the stronger sun index down here. That the UK paints would not last very well and best to buy the French stuff. But you pays yer money and you takes yer chance init [:-))]
6. Just a small correction Gluestik. "since the connections are loose and sloppy and then this causes what is called High Contact Point Resistance, which again zooms up the amps." The higher the resistance with a constant current + lower amperage, but the point of that high resistance is like yet another heating element and will get hot and burn if left long enough even although the current is lower. But I agree that it should be a big no no to use a kettle on a cigar lighter socket unless the rating is higher than the kettle will take and the less sets of connections the better. Most cars these days have a 12v socket and if you check in the handbook it will/should give the ratiing
7. Oh dear Pee-Air, I am sooo glad I din say that lot You bin listening to too much radio 208 on the air [:-))]
8. Firstly, ta for that link Norman. I hadn't realised that there was an English site? I will have a gander at that tomorrow. I was directed towards the Airbox jobbie by an Orange e-mail and their link didn't make it very clear and it looks as if I an thinking about the Livebox 4 with the internal HDD slot? We have recently changed from a Livebox2 to a Livebox Play and so far have changed it once because of ethernet disconnects and they seem to be reoccuring again with the replacement. If it happens again I was wondering what the 4 was like?
9. Hi folks, has anyone had any dealings with the Orange Airbox and if so what is it like and is it a direct exchange for a rented Livebox Play??? (sorry, too many ??? ?)
10.
The boundary is immovable, the élévations may change but the boundary does not.   The géometre will have access to far more accurate dimensions than you can scale from the plan cadastre, they are planar geometry co-ordinates that take into account élévations and the curvature of the earth,
They do have the plan, but they can get it wrong too! One of our boundry marking bornes is a couple of metres out, to our detriment, and as the neighbour concerned is a complete a r s ehole it's a problem and we are going to have to get another geometre in to contest it. We have the original plan and the clown who got it wrong has admitted that it's correct, but the borne hasn't been moved, yet! There had even been an acusation of a 'back hander' to the erks with him, but that is just speculation you understand?
11. I have just tried looking at that link Harnser. It's been removed by the user.. We have only seen 1 live and one dead one in the 12 years here. The dead one was on the back of our gardeners pickup. He told his brother had shot it. It was HUGE! We do see the damage in the vine fields though and they are the cause of a lot of it around here!
12.
Is that fence for keeping something in or out?
Yes. But I have no idea which [:-))] Just as a quick clue??? Every canton will have one although I have no idea if they are like the ones I have seen near here. There, I have just about told you what it/they are [6]
13. It's just outside Carcassonne and it ain't the only one around here. I suppose that you coulld put them there. In fact that would be a VERY fitting use [8-|] A slightly different view
14. Can anyone tell me what this place is with its wall to wall razor wire [:-))]
15. I didn't know that Screwfix sold Jacobs ladders [8-)]
16. A floating ladder ehhhh [:-))] Now, that's deed crafty init already even [blink] But that wouldn't work because by the time you'd got the ladder in place yer boat would have moved [8-)]
17. That would depend on the height of the ladder [:-))] For the few who are ignorant to the causes here is a bit of education for you [8-|]
18. Ah, again, but what would you do if one attacked you. [8-)] It may have been imported by accident in a bunch of wooly bananas [:-))]
19. Ah, but you never know init? One may well have sneaked over and may well attack your dog, or cat? I always work on the principle of buy 2 and be one jump agead, but I can't remember what it is I'm supposed to buy? [8-)] Must be me age [blink]
20. This could just be very useful [:-))] In a bucket mix: 1 quart hydrogen peroxide (the 3 percent hydrogen peroxide variety) ¼ cup baking soda 2 teaspoons dishwashing liquid If you have a large breed dog, you may need to double, triple or even quadruple the mixture. Wear dishwashing or other household gloves if you like during the whole de-skunking process. Don't wet down your pet. Apply the mixture to your pet's dry coat from the collar back toward the tail. Don't pour it near the eyes because the hydrogen peroxide solution can burn them. Lather the mixture into your pet's coat and skin. Rub the solution around for about five minutes or until the skunk smell starts to dissipate. If the front of your pet is as stinky as the back, use a sponge to apply the solution to your pet's chin, cheeks, forehead and ears, being very careful not to go near the eyes. When you rinse the head area, tilt your pet's chin upward so the solution does not run down into the eyes, instead allow the water to run back off his neck. Do a complete rinse once the smell starts to decrease, then repeat the entire process again. You may need to repeat the lather and rinse process up to three times, but it's a very effective method for removing the skunk smell from your pet. Make sure to completely rinse the solution off your pet. Your final rinse should be very thorough. You can't prepare this solution ahead of time and store it – it won't be effective when you need it. It must be made fresh, right before you apply it to your pet. So it pays to make sure you have all the ingredients ahead of time! Good luck … and I hope you never have to use my skunk rinse recipe!

Italy??

GOOD GRIEF Mikew [:-))] I'll have to go into a dark room to calm down after looking at that site! Ta for the info folks. As I said, I think, the only thing we have that needs more than 2 pins is the MacBook charger, so I will look into that? Just to make it even more interesting that's has a U.K. plug on it [Www]

Italy??

We are off to Venice for a few daze in a weeks time and I have just had a thought?? It's OK, I'm sat down and strapped in so I won't fall over [:-))] Does anyone know if the 2 pin French plugs fit the Italian sockets? I have done a search and they look very similar, but it would be nice to find out beforehand if adaptors were needed for phone/camera/etc chargers were needed. That includes the  round 3 pin adaptor for our MacBook?? Any ideas please?

LUNG CANCER

I have had the impression for a long time now that 1. the appointment may state a time, but it's really for the date. Time is of no great importance. 2. It's quite normal for medical people to be late, so why appologise for being so. I agree that it can be upsetting in a stressful situation, but it's the norm this side of the cut. Do you know how long your appointment was booked for? Was it booked for a complete hour?
24.
always have a back strap I hate 'thongs' I just don't want anything between my toes.
