1. Hello Tresco, What is this Le bouffon like ? *&^£*(&  &_*"£ if you ask me ! I really had no idea what your sexual tendences are when I posted the reference to 'middle aged lesbians' (why should I have done) and I do hope I haven't offended you. It makes no difference to me and I still think your 'interests' part in your profile is excellent. I sometimes wish I wasn't so easily tempted to make postings as mine always seem to end in conflict. I have no doubt that some good person will advise me to stop on the premise that I make my own bed and should be prepared to lie in it. Ho hum. BTW what do think of the new picture of me ? I might just update with a real one tomorrow to stop this farce. Jenny.[:P]
2. Hello Rob G, Yes you are on the right lines. I will be updating my avatar to show a picture which any doubters should feel more comfortable with. As to the flying jets, it's not Tomcats I'm afraid, but Boeing 747-400ER's which incidentally are freighters, not passenger aircraft. Jenny.[;)]
3. Hello Tresco, I have just looked at your profile and I love your entry for interests. Funniest thing I have seen for weeks !(Really, I'm not taking the pee, very funny !!!). You are right about profile information of course. Thanks for saying you think I'm fit but of course the picture's not really me at all. I actually look like a pig and I don't make my living flying jets. I'm just a sad old bird who dreams of sitting on top of 60,300lbs of  thrust from 4 General Electric jet engines! Hey ho. Jenny. [;)]
4. TU, How horrible !   I am sorry I didn't realise to what extent you had been victimised and I can fully understand your position on this. Did you know who the offender was and did you get him/her back ? Jenny.
5. You have a point Debra ! I'm not chuckling yet but if I'm still looking at this forum in 6 months time, who knows ? Jenny. [;)]
6. Hello Teamed Up, Thanks for your thoughtful reply. Of course you are perfectly right to be careful and I am sorry you had such a bad experience. I think the way most people deal with e-mail addresses nowadays, myself included, is to have more than one. I use the free hotmail service [email protected] as my 'public' address where anyone can find me by name and chuck whatever rubbish they like at me, most of which is filtered anyway before it reaches my inbox and this account really doesn't 'matter'. One advantage of this account is that I can access it on any computer, anywhere and because it doesn't matter I can dump it at anytime and create a new one. I also have other 'cryptic' accounts which are not linked to my name and remain personal and totally secure, which DO 'matter' and I would not dream of giving these to forums etc. Don't you think it's quite nice to have some idea of the type of person you are corresponding with on forums and you don't have to give out any really personal info to give people clues about your 'leanings'. Presumably most people don't object to co-respondents knowing their occupation and interests (if they do they can't be much fun at dinner parties, can they !). Just a personal view of course but I do notice that a lot of 'snipers' remain totally anonymous so we don't know whether we are being picked on by a middle aged lesbian or an eighteen year old spotty schoolboy. AND:  isn't this thread remarkably free of the 'must post on everything' brigade. don't you think ? I wonder if they all communicate secretly and agree to 'don't post' on threads that expose them ? Just a thought. Jenny.  [6]
7. Hello Jonzjob. I think your posting is spot on. I am a little envious of your flying experience - Comets have to be the ultimate commercial jet of all times. I am restricted to Boeing's finest, I'm afraid. Jenny.
8. Sorry about my last effort people; not quite sure what I've done to produce such a strange page ! I have to say that most of the comments on this thread are both considered and sensible, which is nice. There's still a clique though ! I can spot them a mile away having spent years battling with 'the boys club' in my particular industry. Keep tramping KKK ! Jenny.
9.
Hello Jenny Rennes.  You have obviously posted to receive a reaction. If Viva is not included in the "dreaded clique" perhaps you would kindly inform us who is. The trampoline was mostly taken in fun as are many subjects on here.  Disagreement can occur with a new poster, just as much as with "ancient" posters.  If somoene wants a laugh or needs one, we have a laugh.  If someone is in need of help, we try to help. That is how I see it on here, come join us...   [8-|]   Hello Christine, As for the 'clique' - their silence is deafening. Perhaps by replying to this post they think they will admit being members and so they don't.(with a couple of exceptions !). The words benefit and blessing spring to mind ! I have a third question; Why don't such vociferous posters (3rd glass of Chenin blanc so the spelling might be wrong - soory) enter a profile ? Timid or what ? Jenny. [:P]
10.
Why not change your home page to something more interesting....... (penny for the best suggestion....)
No contest - has to be 'about:blank'. Cuts out all that crap ! Jenny.
11. ' but I have got a strange sense of humour.' You can't be all bad then. Me too ![6] Hello Gay (is it alright to be so personal ?), All your points are well explained. Thanks.[A]
12. Hello Viva, Thanks for your lightning-quick reply. Although you made most of the initial running in the thread I wasn't actually including you in the dreaded 'clique' (I hope this doesn't offend or disappoint you) and you are absolutely right, you are perfectly entitled to your views. I confess I didn't see your retorts as 'playing along' with KKK's thread as you suggest but it's not always easy to know if people are having a bit of friendly banter or having a dig ! I still think you were having a dig and that's MY opinion, which I am perfectly entitled to. Hello Teamed Up, I believe you have the most postings to date (please someone tell me if I am mistaken) and for that you should be congratulated. I agree with you that the moderators do a splendid job and I wasn't having a dig at RussetHouse. I just don't think the protocol is right when a moderator moderates their own adversary and I would have hoped for another moderator to step in if necessary. Jenny.
13. I found the 'LOADSAMONEEEEEE' thread fascinating. It raises 2 questions for me and perhaps others. Firstly; is this a forum or a private member's 'club'. Is it just me or does anyone else think that there appears to be a little huddle of posters who have some sort of elite status - or at least they seem to think they have ! They post relentlessly on just about every thread, which I don't have a problem with but in a manner that suggests that their opinion is infallible, which I do. Their only qualification for this elevated position, as far as I can see, is their ability to spend hours and hours trawling through the postings to find something (anything) that they can comment about. KKK , whether spoofing or not, produced a thread that was amusing, if a little puerile, but which nonetheless managed to ruffle a few feathers and I am intrigued as to why this little 'clique' are so quick to attack this and other harmless postings. They all seem to come from the same lot that 'slags off' alternative forums whilst obviously spending hours sifting through them to find something to snipe at. Do they feel threatened perhaps ? Of what, I cannot imagine but they are all seem very fragile to me. Anyone else think so ?   Secondly; is it acceptable for forum moderators to 'put their moderator's hat on' when they are personally involved in the verbal skirmish that they wish to moderate ? I do not think so. Jenny.
14. Thanks Dick, I must say it all sounds a lot more appetising with melba toast - why is that 1 slice of dull mothers pride is always too much whereas a whole loaf made into melba toast isn't enough ? Must be served with unsalted butter though ! Nice tip about chilling th bloc to make slicing easier ...TA ! Jenny.
15. Thanks Clair, You are absolutely right of course; soupe de poisson isn't creamy. I think they must do something 'their' way at the Sinagot. I'll try diluting it with creme fraiche and then blitzing it. Thanks again. Jenny.
16. Hello again, I've got a couple of pots of bloc de foie gras de canard. I know how to prepare and cook fresh foie gras but what's the best thing to do with this 'bloc' ? Can I cook it in the same way as fresh or is it meant to always be served cold ? Seems a shame to just treat it as liver pate , n'est ce pas ? Jenny.
17. Hi foodies, I love soupe de poissons and often eat it in France. I recently bought 2 ready made bottles (Soupe de poissons au coulis de homard) from 'La Tapenade' in Vannes, which, by the way, is an excellent shop. However, when I re-heated the first bottle it proved to be much stronger and more intense than those I have had in restaurants and it proved to be overpowering. The bottle suggests the possibility of "rallonger d'1/4 en eau et en creme fraiche' to dilute it. I have had it served with a knob of Brittany butter but never with creme fraiche. As it's the only one I've got until I go over again I don't want to spoil it so any thoughts or advice on how to achieve that wonderfully fishy but creamy texture (as in 'Le Sinagot' in Vannes) would be welcome. What do you do with yours ? Jenny.
18.
And most days I drink totally-tea. Don't lose any weight though[8-)], should I?
No wonder you appear to be so unhappy Teamed Up - tea all day - aaaaaaaaagh ! I',ve given up everything in the past - booze. food. sex. fun. flying. trying to help people who won't be helped - all to no avail so this year I am giving up giving up and I feel better already. Happy new year everyone. Jennie Rennes.
19. Hello everyone, At long last I am changing from dial up to broadband and I have subscribed to the basic BT 2mb service which supplies a BT Voyager 205 router. My litle home network consists of a main PC and a laptop which are connected for sharing by a Linksys switch with 5 ports. The PC currently acts as the gateway to the net. The 205 Router apparently comes with a usb and rj45 connection and BT recommend using both to run 2 computers. Can I not just simply use the router as the gateway and connect it directly to the switch ? Will this give me what I have now but with both computers on broadband ? Will I have to manually configure the system, I know a little about ip addressing and I assume that the router will become the gateway with the address 192.168.0.1.and will dynamically assign addresses to the 2 computers. My reason for not wanting to use th usb connection is because I've heard it causes all sorts of problems. All help gratefully received. Happy Christmas  BTW. Jenny.
20. Thanks everyone for your replies. Coco, thanks for the recipe which looks pretty good to me. I'll let you know what I get, how I cook it and what it tastes like when I get back. Au revoir,  Jenny Rennes.
21. Hello foodies, Has anyone got any recipes for wild boar that they would like to share ? Any tips on buying it, keeping it or cooking it would be welcome, I understand sanglier is red meat, classed as game, is hung for up to a week and is delicious. Jenny Rennes.
22. Hello people Our 125 year old granite stone house has a slate roof fixed with clips that are 'U' shaped one end to support the slate and tapered into a spike the other end which is nailed into the roof timber. There is no guttering and it does not look as if there ever has been but we have a bit of a damp problem and have been advised that guttering the roof will help no end. The nearby houses have a gutter that is unlike the simple UK half-pipe system and appears to be a galvanised zinc or aluminium 'tray' that sits on top of the slates just above the lowest point of the roof and is tucked underneath the slate above it.It is very attractive and I want it. Questions  Is it difficult to install ?  my partner is a very competent DIYer and can do most building type things very well. How much do the materials cost ? Do we need planning consent ? Any advice will be appreciated and any good info or tips regarding the actual process of removing the existing slates, inserting the gutter and replacing the slates will be REALLY appreciated. Merci, jenny
23. Thank you SaligBay what fun ! I only wish I could do the same to some of the people who have this thing as a ringtone and who let it ring and ring before answering. There was a teenage girl in the bank yesterday who did just that and obviously thought everyone was impressed. It seems that the very useful mobile telephone concept has been developed into a far more sinister and annoying "must have" accessory that is proving to be both annoying and in some cases dangerous. I can remember when a mobile was just a telephone and sounded like a telephone and not a jukebox. Jenny.
24. Well you have all put me in my place, haven't you ? On reflection I have certainly been hasty and possibly unfair in my comments and I hope all of you who are trying to make a living as well as offering outstanding service and value for money will forgive me. In my defence can I just say that I get fed up with the constant crop of 'Brits' who think they can turn their hand to anything once they set foot on foreign soil, including catering for paying customers when they really haven't got a clue, becoming a 'builder' when all they have ever built is a brick barbecue and looking after peoples gardens when they have spent all their life in a 2 up 2 down in Manchester. I concede that none of you fall into this category and I apologise unreservedly. Jenny Rennes. Despite my surname I am English.
25. I have to say that i am appalled by most of the replies on this forum. It appears that most of the posters are interested only in the maximum profit they can make rather than the excellence of their services. I appreciate that a business needs to make a profit but adjusting the cereal from a nicely presented individual box to a catering pack says a great deal about the person, as does not offering a melon because it's a bit too expensive. What happened to excellence ? It saddens me . I would like to think that as an English woman staying in an English persons place in France I would be offered the best available rather than a carefully portioned quota based on a profit percentage! I would offer as many croissants as were necessary to satisfy and a full English if required. Of course I would charge an appropriate amount but at least my guests would feel like guests rather than visitors to an all inclusive package holiday. I am sorry to be picky about this but this is just one reason why the rest of Europe thinks the English are rubbish. Jenny Rennes.
