1. LOL! Ty ar mor, that is so funny![:D] Can just imagine your poor hubby's face.
2. Coops, have you got your favourites bar running down the side of your screen? I leave mine up all the time, but have to close it if there are photos if I don't, I have to scroll sideways to see the pic. Just a thought! [:)]
3. but.......but.........but.........I didn't say evil! [blink]
4. Here you go Fluffy, sorry I was going to type in the recipe I use from my cookbook, but was feeling a tad lazy. So looked on a site in my favourites. It's very similar, apart from the added extra of leeks. Which sounds nicer. Take your pick on the language. http://www.meilleurduchef.com/cgi/mdc/l/fr/recettes/petit_sale.html  http://www.cuisine-french.com/cgi/mdc/l/en/recettes/petit_sale.html
5. Beautiful clear photo, I love it!
6. Great Missy & your avatar is on too!!!![:-))]
7. Poor trees! [;-)][kiss] We've had a few mossies & flies. Nothing too annoying yet though & thank goodness no bites.
8. 30th Nov actually! [:-))] Christmas is long gone & I must admit, it's very odd still having them up. By tonight though....
9.
Anyone else starting to worry about the amount of Christmas decs still up?? Went out yesterday and saw loads of climbing Santa's still! I seem to remember last year some stayed for up ages after Christmas....
No not worried at all, mainly because er.........um.......... we're not being superstitious this year (luck's been crap anyway!) & er.................ours are still up! They're coming down later today though. Well, they just look so pretty![;-)]
10. LOL! Oh go on Tresco![Www] Good luck Deb, I hope it all goes well for you.[:D]
11. My dad was a mason & used to say that it wasn't a secret society, but a society of secrets. It's mainly their ceremonies that are kept schtum about & the handshake!!! They do raise an awful lot of money for charity & don't shout off about it. As someone has already said, if you know someone who is a mason, just ask them about it.
12. We've had quite a bit of rain & the temperature has been 12/14 even in the dead of night. The only trouble is the gales we've had. On & off, it's been really bad over the last couple of months & in the early hours of yesterday it ended up taking out a beautiful cypress tree. Let alone branches of various other trees.
How much do they charge you to tell you more?
Don't know Tresco, I didn't go into it.

IQ test

Congratulations, Jayjay! Your IQ score is 133 This number is based on a scientific formula that compares how many questions you answered correctly on the Classic IQ Test relative to others. 15.
I must agree with Jonzjob in regards to wine but for JayJay, I would bring the supplies in [:D]. We do have woodpeckers in France but only hear them, very rarely see them but not sure if we have the greater spotted woodpecker. But in any case have never caught them in the act as you have done in your photo JayJay, great shot.
That's most kind of you WJT [kiss] Some wine's good too![;-)] Cheers, 2 days ago the lesser woodpecker was on the bird table too, he was after the nuts. It's a shame my camera hadn't been close by then. I didn't realise he was there & as I turned around he flew into the willow & kept his beady eye on me. He then gave up the ghost & went around the side of the house & back to attacking the hole. I wish my camera was better as that particular tree is only 25/30 foot away, but they come out as a speck![:(] I have a video clip of him, but it's on it's side [:$] & I don't know how to right it, load it & put a link! Shame your little friend is a bit fuzzy WJT, but you can make him out.
16.
Can you fry brioche?
Yes, makes nice French toast/Gypsy bread too.
17. Thanks Pads, I have some lovely memories of The Jamaica Inn & Bodmin Moor & your photos have just brought them flooding back. [:D] Love the unusual shots of the trees too!
18. We have the greater, lesser & green in the garden & for the past year they have been taking it in turns to make a perfect hole in one of our poplars. It was started by the lesser spotted. It's only about 10/12 ft up & not far from the window & great to watch. [:D]
19. Yes Pip, tis me. Sorry Jean Luc, the disguise was to protect the innocent! Tresco, what can I say? [:P]
20. WJT is a lady Pads! [:D] Or a lioness
21. Oh Pads, what a thing to say!!!! [:P] WJT, sorry if I hurt your feelings.[:(] Have you got any Guinness? [:-))] No no no, I didn't mean that, doesn't matter about the squiggles honest. Have you got one of these? Not a great shot, he was attacking the base of the bird table![8-)]   Sorry John, no duck or grouse, just a woodpecker! A slap later though![kiss]
22.
You'll be fine Polly! Just a word of advice - make sure that you hang out with French kids as well as English ones.  Your French will improve so much quicker this way.
Follow Twink's advice Polly, it will really help you. My friend moved over here 2 years ago, her eldest daughter was 13 & the next one down was 11. The eldest lacked confidence but really gave it a go & has blossomed at school. She mixed with French kids & that really speeded up learning the language. The 11yr old, very confident, chose to spend most of her time with an English girl & although fine now, she did struggle. Despite having the same extra lessons that her sister had.
23. Pads, have you got a squiggle? [:-))]
24. Ooooo John, with an offer like that, you bet ya![:D] I'm supposed to be going darn sarf sometime this year, so I'll mail you when to put the coffee on.[;-)] It's lovely to hear you're both really happy & enjoying life.
25. Lucky you John, love the photos.[:D]
