IMHO Anyone who moves to France because they think the UK is a 'dead duck' brings frying pan and fire to mind [8-)] -
British exit from EU 2016/17!!!!!
Russethouse replied to monsieur macon's topic in The Complete France Post Bag
I suspect once the electorate read the rest of the UKIP manifesto their appeal might wither somewhat -
Thanks for your concern, I'm fine but working away from home for a few days Looking at French house prices compared with the South of England I suspect there may be a whole lot of people thinking about moving over.....

Of course the soggy bottoms may be down to the cook - did they all have soggy bottoms all the time ? If baking blind my friend coats the inside of the base pastry with egg before adding the filling, she says that seals it ...I have used the oven for quiches and they are Ok, although frankly I don't mind a slightly soggy bottom. For sponges it was even, you put the tins on the shelf diagonally. Before we bought we went to a local Neff stockist on a demo day and I found that very interesting...

I have the Neff 'bake off' oven and have to wonder what setting the Bake off cooks were using, you can have so many different types, circotherm, bottom heat only, top heat only, bottom and top heat, intensive roasting, slow cooking etc...I don't bake much but my daughter did when she was here and didn't have any problems with evenness . Cannon, are simply not the quality they once were, likewise my rangemaster cooker was nowhere near Aga quality and in fact I wouldn't have one again.

Pickles, as this forum shares software with several other Archant related forums, I suspect that if we activated 1st post moderation it would have to be across the board.....somehow I doubt that will happen( or actually that things could ever be that 'joined up' ,,,jeez, did I say that ? ;-) )

CA Britline considering charging for English Speaking Service
Russethouse replied to minnie's topic in French Finance

Yes you might have a point, I was responding in complete frustration. I was responding to the email on page one by ms smugginess r51. I run a number of businesses in four different countries. I cannot learn different languages , I dont get the time. I do however, get agreements from the relevant banks I deal with to always have someone available to speak english and they agree. Credit Agricole St Lo did not fulfill this agreement. However they do take my money. Ms R51 needs to reprogramme her brain morally and start being a bit less smug. I doubt if she has encountered or worked hard in her life. One of life's scroungers relying on others for an income.
Errrrmmm: play the ball, not the player! You don't know Mrs R51 (I presume) and I think that you might want to reconsider your very personal, potentially VERY hurtful and inappropriate comments. The post made - TWO YEARS AND EIGHT PAGES AGO - concerned the potential proposal by CA Britline to charge for an English-speaking service. You have resurrected this old thread and made a post which doesn't seem to be about CA Britline per se, but about the failure of a specific CA branch to honour an agreement to provide someone in-branch to speak English. Why not start a new thread and avoid the personal attacks?
Pickles has put it well, please do not make personal attacks on members, yes attack the argument or say if your experience has been different, but attacking a specific poster really wont help and is likely to get your post removed. -
Put the whole thing, box included into a tin, an old biscuit or cake tin would do. Good Luck

CA Britline considering charging for English Speaking Service

This thread is nearly 2 years old.. I have no idea who are you talking to and writing whole texts in caps is seen as shouting and is rude. If you have a banking problem and need help, then just say so and maybe other forum members will be kind enough to assist -
What is that continuous splashback stuff for kitchens called?
Russethouse replied to Mrs Trellis's topic in House Renovations
I think you maybe taking the etiquette rules a little too seriously...it looks to me as if the caps in the post you refer to are used to stress a point, in two cases, and as an abbreviation in another....there's a big difference in that and WRITING WHOLE SCREEDS OF TEXT IN CAPS, LIKE THIS....that IS shouting What's the point of smileys if they are discouraged? -

Richard51, I don't see where Betty was 'shouting' are you on the right thread? Was the stuff you saw in the Carolina's 'swanboard' my friend in Boston has this and it still looks smart after a number of years -

Got rid of our brushed steel and when we had the granite worktops installed the chap cut a piece of granite to go behind the cooker and drilled holes so we could attach a utensil rack...works for me... -

We just had splashback where it was needed, behind the sink and cooker and 'upstand' elsewhere...glass looks lovely but I suspect behind a cooker it would be a pain and require daily attention, which is above my housework grade, frankly. -

My brother in law and I have lasting power of attourney for my mother, but haven't actually enacted it yet.....the only thing I would say is as far as I remember it comes in two parts, well being/ health and financial....my feeling is that it's best to do both together I believe the forms are available on the Internet , read them carefully, not everyone qualifies to be a 'guardian'. -
I have a hide and slide oven and love it, good luck....so easy to slide things out and check things I also have a Neff induction hob which I am also very pleased with.....

Oh dear, good luck with all your problems...

Its called 'The Bank of England' so if the powers that be say no, what can Salmond do ? Can he force the bank to let the Scots have the pound...? He is like a child at the pick & mix, oh we want this, we don't want that etc...and somehow he expects everyone else to fall in....[:'(] -

Please can we draw a line under this -
Surely if the powers that me in every party say the Scots could not have the pound, no matter what the arguments he's not going to get it..so let him argue away...just time wasting. Strikes me he has assumed an awful lot...

Betty, I have mixed feelings, Maidenhead is certainly better off than it might otherwise have expected to be, but both Cookham and Wraysbury think they are worse off and from personal experience I can never remember Cookham Village being turned into an Island before...maybe the Jubilee relief scheme needs a tweak...but there are plenty of other things that can be addressed. The road past Longridge was open this morning although t he centre its elf is still under water. -

Back to the floods...as I said there are those ready to blame the Jubilee relief scheme for the problems in Wrasbury and Datchet http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2560311/The-wrath-Wraysbury-We-drowned-Gin-Jag-set-Windsor-Eton-dry.html -

Regarding Scotland: if they leave it should be on the understanding that if it all goes wrong they cannot come back and be bailed out.....
