  1. Do agree with NMs comment about mob mentality. Quite an irony that Mr Farage relies very much on such a mentality for his rebel rousing blarny.
  2. Today driving through rural dordogneshire I remarked to OH how similar the blue flowers along the roadside were to bluebells in our UK garden. Despite normally OH being rather good at flower names we cant find the name of them - any ideas? Heads are about 6 inches long.and are pretty ubiquitous. Can't be Fleur de Lys as OH says I'm wrong. Ta for a response.
  3. That is playing into his hands at the moment and also his vice-president is even more nasty.
  4. If there was any doubt: https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-politics/trump-harriet-tubman-20-bill-note-delay-why-a8926311.html The guy is beyond contempt.
  5. Nice one Norm - shame it was missed.
  6. I find it strange that the deal of the century was originally supposed to be designed by 4 people but, hey, the Muslim woman resigned and we are left with, hey,- just look at their 3 backgrounds to do with settlements etc. Who is he listening to?
  7. Wow - https://www.independent.co.uk/voices/trump-joe-biden-ukraine-corruption-volodymyr-zelensky-yuriy-lutsenko-a8922546.html Perhaps aircraft carriers to the Med is the next move. Who is he listening to? Perhaps he should increase to UN levels foreign aid and not spend money on weapons. Perhaps Corbyn, not Cameron. is to blame. Grrr. Nb I'm having a go at Esther McVey who has probably forgotten that she was a Barnardos child. There but for the grace of G,D (?) goes anybody in the UK. Every human born outside the UK should have the same respect.
  8. The reference I gave included this quote: "For large heights, it is advisable to shift the cages 10 or 20 cm at each row to prevent the weight of the upper gabion come press the panels of the front panel that could deform under stress. To retain land in an embankment, a concrete foundation is not always necessary. It depends on the stability of your ground, the desired gabion height, the embankment to be withheld, any possible overloading at the rear. " I fear it will expand into an expensive (in time and money) exercise, but the end product will be more "modern". The retaining wall I "repaired" does remain in keeping with its surroundings as most neighbours do have old stone walls. Your decision and final result will be very interesting.
  9. Was the 2017 one not satisfactory for some reason? https://services.completefrance.com/forums/completefrance-forums/cs/forums/1/3527950/ShowPost.aspx#3527950
  10. I thought that it would be interesting to bring this thread back to the fore in order to show how well advanced we are now - NOT (so).
  11. Your comment is pathetic - just like all your silly snide comments. Not funny - just sad.
  12. Norm old boy - imho your post is an abuse of the private service offered on this forum. Indeed why is there a private service at all. Is it a private service for WB and Mint also or just a way of pee_ing people off.
  13. Plenty of the things circling around our house in Dordogneshire in the evening. One of the darned things gave a direct hit to my forehead whilst I was sitting on the patio enjoying our evening meal. Luckily not on the plate. And its nothing to do with karma.
  14. Whichever way you go the same principles seem to apply. https://www.tendance-gabion.fr/applications/murs-de-soutenement/ In terms of holding back the soil I used the crossed-finger method. From your photo it looks as if not too much has fallen down!
  15. Perhaps its time the UN moved from the USA: https://www.haaretz.com/us-news/u-s-rejects-top-palestinian-official-hanan-ashrawi-s-visa-request-1.7238219 bias???
  16. Norm I'm crap at french. Just spent several hours with a wonderful neighbour who even Parisians cant understand. Fortunately his wife is half Scottish!!!
  17. Norm I would be voting Green except I am currently in France. Hope they dont think that no vote equates to Brexit grrrr. Shame that the likes of some warmongers only think in terms of being ultra right.
  18. I hope you are not voting for someone who goes with this: https://www.timesofisrael.com/trump-joins-gop-chorus-rebuking-lawmaker-tlaib-for-holocaust-comments/ Read the whole article, goodness the lass is spot on and Trump comes across to me as totally obsessed with his so called New York advisers. What a world!!! I hope you dont think that media in Israel is actually unbiased. Its actually totally racist towards non-jews.
  19. Ok, got it , but what does for example: "22 years old, student at Sciences Po" or "Chef d'entreprise" actually mean. Twaddle.
  20. Cannot load it. Can you give a resume even though it may give away your political views. Our neighbours in Dordogneshire (somewhat rural but not employers of foreign workers)) hate Macron but think Pen (euk) may do well..
  21. Nomoss - have you forgotten Godwin law already? No red flowing as we have been doing rather a lot of driving recently.
