  1. LAST EDITED ON 28-Jul-04 AT 12:02 PM (BST) It's very easy to use the Autoroute all the way to Barcelona but you'd be missing quite a few sights if you do. Suggest you head for somewhere like Collioure, have lunch on one of the beachside restaurants and then take the coast road down to Figeures (very steep cliffside roads but breathtaking views) - if you're interested in art in any way you should not miss the Salvador Dali museum in Figeures. Autoroute to Barcelona from there is no problem.
  2. You can advertise for free on the SML website - http://www.smlfrance.co.uk - they are located just outside Beziers in Laurens.
  3. A previously posted useful link giving the direct dial landline number instead of 0870 and 0845 numbers has now been streamlined into a database type format and renamed. http://www.saynoto0870.com Very useful when trying to contact companies from France and now easier to use than the previous long list.

  5. We paid our bill for postcode 34600 about a month ago to the public treasury in Montpellier. Doug
  6. Mike, The offer seems good on the surface but I wouldn't be doing my guests any favours by directing them to a website where they would pay for car hire that they could get cheaper elsewhere. The advertising site is effectively a Europcar commissioned agency. I used Holiday Autos to get a Europcar hire car just a few weeks ago. There was a difference of 60 in 1 week's hire. I paid 119 in July against an offer of 180 for late September on the proposed website. I'll just stick with advertising on Chez Nous thanks. Doug
  7. Mike, I would be interested for 34 area (Herault). My website is http://www.myfrenchholiday.com. Doug
  8. Your Velux window is almost certainly a double glazed unit like any other window and can be easily replaced. Any local joiner/glazier should be able to measure it and have it made to size. As well as the outside dimensions, the width of the 'separator' must be known (usually a 12mm thick silver colour but can vary quite a lot). The metallic silver separator seal is probably faulty allowing moisture to ingress. There are several different methods of making a double glazed unit but there is no point in boring you with detail. Suffice to say that you need to call in a tradesman. Doug
