  1. Hi mint ..... no small task. For Tennis, I cannot help as I hardly ever watch it so wouldn't even understand what "debreak" means ..... Now, for the proper French language ..... Decouper ..... You "decoupe" around something (a bone, a patern in a sheet of metal, paper etc), Otherwise you "coupe" (pain, saucisson, a boneless piece of meat). Decompter ....... this is more of a fact, a known number to which you arrive at by "compter" (either add or substract) Ajouter "v" Rajouter ..... You "ajoute" des pommes-de-terre, des carottes, du choux and other condiments to your soup but ...... if needed, you "rajoute" salt (meaning there wasn't enough of it in the first place. Also understand that "some" people will use the wrong verb in a phrase, you thinking that person is correct ....
  2. Sorry mint ..... I don't get your question ..... Sorry.
  3. Just listen to her earlier (to be found on YouTube) .... Deshabillez-moi .... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-u02lMspv_0&list=FLmG8s5L8JWeGRY3yPjmUZ0Q&index=257
  4. No bust yet wooly. They are in a protection phase but still producing.
  5. Yes it did ..... I could pronounce "Troyes", "Reims" and "Lyon" correctly from day one.
  6. Hello Dean. Sincere condolences. If you are unsure linguistically, you can use my recommended UK based Solicitor AND French Notaire (all under one same roof). You can contact them here http://www.anglofrenchlaw.co.uk/ and refer yourself from Eric
  7. The bread keeps well inside a cloth. As for the size, I can't see why it wouldn't work with half the ingredients ..... not sure about the cooking time though .... Good luck and give us feedback !
  8. We have followed this recipe since beginning of Covid. Not one loaf wasted, all delicious, crusty (thin crust). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NkpEueQA4iQ
  9. We haven't had the landline connected for over 12 months (we are in credit with orange by £1.49). I pay the €24.99 internet monthly and dare not suspend it as have had a bad experience in the past.
  10. Not sure when I joined this Forum. My main aim was to help some of you in their daily tasks, DIY issues, grammatical questions (if I can answer ....) and of course, join discussion where my input could be of help. I am still available for the above although sometime not logging-on for some weeks. I don't do chit/chat and I'm hopeless when there is a debate going on and the post goes on for pages and pages without much being said actually .....
  11. Many ways mint .... - Freeze individually and use as and when needed. - Dry whole in the hot sun and crumble into glass jars (use like espellette) - Raw in olive oil (to use on pizzas for example) - As chutney or Jelly.

No nomoss and I agree with your comments. I have on many occasions after found myself fishing a few out of a bowl of water to give them their freedom ......

Easy nomoss ...... I was on my barn roof earlier this month, mid-afternoon and high 30's temperatures. I needed to reposition/place a few tile as I could see daylight through ..... climbed on the said roof with safety shoes and not much above my waist ..... reached the apex of the roof when a dozen wasps started to attack me. I swear, they hadn't been provoked, I hadn't even yet started to put the tiles in place so couldn't have disturbed any nest ... yet. I couldn't run away as I risked breaking every single tile around me with my heavy boots, I couldn't wave a t-shirt at them as I wasn't wearing one ..... I just had to take the stings as they came until they had had enough ..... 4 on the left hand, 3 on my right elbow, 4 on my left elbow and a couple in the head ..... Ouchhh ... The left hand nearly doubled in size over the course of the next 3 days. Did I want to save the species on that roof ..... Not one second. I would have been happy to wipe off the whole colony in one swift move. I went back to normal on day 5. Tiles now safely put back together.
  14. Nick, please do try to post only once in the correct Forum. Thank you.
  15. I believe the rule of 10 people Max stands. So yes, as long as you don't exceed this number (for the time being).
  16. I must admit never have heard it (may-be too polite for me ....). I know of "Casser les Bonbons" and of a more vulgar nature (but used more often) .... Casser les C.....es.
  17. Leaving with a trusted next door neighbour or friend sounds a good idea.
  18. 7 out of 10 for me .... and with some guessing for a couple words. Very difficult.
  19. Concerning an earlier country lockdown, this would have been a good idea. Our eldest daughter lives in Nairobi and went into self-isolation around the 10th March. She finally flew back to LGW via Dubai on 22nd March on what would have been the last flight out of Nairobi. Dubai airport shutdown 24h after she had gone through. All to say that she arrived in LGW unchallenged and would have been able to contaminate all those she met since (had she been a carrier). Remember that flights were still coming from all corners of the world (Indian Continent mainly) and all these good British subjects were able to carry the Virus to the 4 corners of these islands. Now look at New Zealand. They imposed an immediate quarantine on arrival. Results? they are back in business so, in my opinion, JoBo must take some responsibility for the situation we are in for not having had the balls to take decisions when they had to be taken. Instead, he pussy-footed about "strongly suggesting" that British people followed some basic rules ......
  20. President Macron is to speak this Sunday at 20h00 to give the latest info on "confinement". I can only guess that he will be announcing a lower lockdown level and likely confirming the opening of all internal EU borders for the 15th June (opeing to EU members, not to the whole world). In which case (and I am only hoping), UK travellers will be able to travel throughout the Eu area. Visitors to France will have to quarantine (ti-for-tat reaction for the UK's decision) in a chosen place and preferably travel to that place by car.
  21. I agree idun ..... this crossing worked very well for us allowing us to arrive Laguepie very early evening on the following day. The best return journey for us was to drive to Caen for an overnight crossing.
  22. Situation up-date. Hello all. Sent P&O a short Email on Monday 8th June quoting my rights and as per EC directives xyz I requested a refund in full within 7 days. I also stated that for clarification, I didn't want a Credit Note or anything similar. Received an Email from P&O this morning advising me that my Credit Card would be credited with the full cost of the ticket. For information, yesterday, I also contacted my Credit Card who confirmed they would reimburse me if P&O didn't play ball.
  23. Thank you Idun for looking into it and Gardian for theconfirmation. I sent another Email yesterday asking them to confirm if my crossing was going ahead or not (I am 99% sure of the situation) but they do need to tell me what's going on (and I do not want a voucher ... !!). Will let you know when I know more.
  24. All .... Using ANTS to (for example) register or get a Carte Grise isn't straight forward but do-able. To ensure you are officialised on the ANTS system, you need to prove your ID. You can do this via the French Post Office by asking the "facteur" to come and visit at an agreed day to check your ID (Passport for example). This being done, you can navigate ANTS to carry all your required tasks. Only last summer, I bought a moped on Ebay UK, took it to France, declared it as a barn find and got the Carte Grise without much efforts. For a car, this would be slightly difficult as you need to get the car manufacturer's confirmation to state on a special document, that your car was built to EU norms etc .... change the lights ... all in all a much more complicated issue.
