  1. taxe d'habitation is income related but not the fonciers, if you can't pay tough, and you also get fined for not paying in time! and you still have to pay up , don't think there is a way of not paying.
  2. I hope that she finds a new home at the open day, have just had my old dog pts and hubby is insisting no more as it is too upsetting . She looks really lovely though
  3. Hi, I live in alenya ,it's a quiet village near st cyprien. college is in st cyprien, either private or public ( from what I've been told both are good),pity you're not here this year as the english lady who taught english at the infants and primary school has just moved back to england. We are about a 5 minute drive from the beach . As for work it depends if your husband speaks french, there are jobs (as long as you are not too fussy) but you have to speak the language Hope this helps , if you have any other questions you can pm me
  4. Hi, just to let you know that we have sorted something out for belle, only temporary but at least it allows my daughter to get sorted out and then she can have her back.
  5. ok thanks, will try and get a photo on tomorrow, actually I feel a bit guilty as there are all these dogs that risk to be put down if they are not adopted, I have just saved and rehomed a cat whose owner had died, the spa were called and they said to bring her in and she would be pts as she was too old (4!!) she ended up at my house and I managed to find her a new home.
  6. also meant to say that she will definately not be pts or taken to the spa ( lots of animals being put down there I've been told) If nobody is found we will just carry on as we are doing now. Just thought that she would be happier with somebody who had a garden whereas at the moment she is in a flat
  7. yes , I will sort out for the chip if I find some one . Shrek is now sorted but still looking for belle. I can't have her as I have a very sick old dog at the moment and she is a bit too lively. He needs be calm and rest most of the day, I have their older dog during the day which means that they can keep one of the younger dogs. a difficult decision to make but they decided on shrek . I know it is difficult to rehome dogs at the moment
  8. yes and I know they should be vaccinated ( mine are all vaccinated and chipped), unfortunately they have only just been scraping by financially for the last couple of years and have sort of ended up with these dogs because they felt sorry for them, shrek had been dumped by the side of the road, I have told them about vaccinations etc but can't afford to pay for it myself unfortunately. They have finally accepted the fact that they need to rehome them , (they are quite upset about it),
  9. yes , I haven't got one at the moment but will try and put one on this afternoon. Also sorry this message got put on 3 times I clicked the wrong button
  10. due to financial reasons my daughter is looking to rehome her 2 dogs. they have had to move into a small appartment and with 3 dogs it just is not possible ( they also have 3 cats) they have come to the difficult decision to try to rehome 2 of them and keep the older one who has health issues ( and who will be spending most of the day at my house). I will try and put some pictures on here as soon as possible, they are good with cats and other dogs and are both 3 years old. They are good on and off the lead There is 1 female called belle , mixed breed, spayed , and the male is shrek, castrated. neither are vaccinated or chipped. size wise I would say belle is the size of an gsd and shrek a cross with a spaniel . People have told them to take them to the spa which they refuse to do ,and I would not do myself. Hope that somebody can help them
  11. hi, the top up insurance will become interested if you take a lawyer as they will put a claim in to get the money back if it goes through the courts, this happened with us, even the cpam put a claim in when it went to court. they even tried to claim back the sick pay I received!!
  12. Hi, I have just been through a procedure for a medical complaint , all I can say is that you need to get a good lawyer. the doctors will do anything to throw the fault on any body except themselves, it has taken 5 years to sort our problem out and at the beginning we tried to sort it out with the doctor in question, he threw the blame on everyone else( us included!!) so we went to see a lawyer . For the expertise it is the lawyer who requests this through the courts , the 'victim' pays for this to be done and claims it back if he or she wins. We paid 600 euros for this to give you an idea of the price. just remember this is france not england and the doctors etc will do anything to wear you down and give up so you drop the complaint. Also I doubt you will find much on the internet as we tried this also before getting a lawyer, Hope this helps
  13. Hi, what I can't understand is how anyone can think about having a healthy dog put down!! I have just had my 15 year old put down after suffering a heart attack and it really upset me even though I knew this time was coming. How can you take a young healthy dog to the vets to be put down just because you can't be bothered to take it back to England? When we moved to england there was still the quarentine and although we were not rich we paid for 3 dogs and 3 cats , this cost a hell of a lot more than a passport!
  14. hi,sorry to hear about your dog, have you thought of changing vets to get a second opinion, you never know. Hope you manage to find out what is wrong with her.
  15. hi,you say you've been up for 3 nights because she's scratching her ears, no? that's 3 nuit blanches
  16. hi,the translation for what you've wriiten is ' ca fait 3 nuits que je reste debout parce que ma chienne se gratte les oreilles jusqu'au sang et n'arrete pas de pleuré', and the second part is ' quand elle marche elle se penche sur le coté, on dirait qu'elle a un probleme d'equilibre. c'est comme si elle pense qu'elle a levé la patte pour se gratté mais la patte est par terre. Hope this helps sounds like she has a ear infection of some kind as my dog used to do this all the time. She was given a course of antibiotics and a bottle of 'surolan' . Hope your vet finds out what it is,
  17. yes I was thinking of going to the spa or something. I've been renting these fields for a year and a half now and have never actually seen the owner of this horse. It did cross my mind to ask him if he didn't want the horse anymore then to give it too me and I could try and find a good home for him, Gave him some hay today and fresh water , hope fully I'll beable to do something to help him
  18. Was told by one of the other owners that when the other horse was really ill he phoned her vet to ask how much it would cost to have him put down then told her that he would think about it and apparently rang round to see if he could get it any cheaper, the poor horse suffered all day long until he finally decided which one to use. There are only 2 vets that deal with horses here so he didn't have much of a choice!! The vet is aware of the condition of the other horse but not sure what she can or will do about it.I will carry on giving it a few extras and checking he has water, somebody has given him some hay today,
  19. hi, have sent them an email to see if they can help thanks
  20. Hi,does anybody know if there are any associations in perpignan area (apart from the spa?) there is a horse in a field next to my 2 who is not being treated very well , feet have not been looked at for a very long time, today he was cornered off in a small part of the field with no water or shade, I gave him a bucket of water and untied the wire that was keeping him there so he could get some shade( it can't be far from 28 degrees today). I have already done this once before when it was chucking it down with rain and 90 km/h winds. the other horse who was with him didn't survive the winter! he was old but not looked after properly either. My hands are tied as apparently the owner is a bit weird and I can't risk anything happening to mine. so would like to know if there is anybody I can contact so they can investigate and maybe have a word with him and not involve me in it. He does not know that it is me letting the horse out of his "prison". If anybody can help?
  21. Hi, if she wants to work to have a carte vitale she needs to look at working as a cleaner on a campsite or something similar, usually plenty part time jobs in the summer around canet , she could try at malibu village which is part of a company called CELA,
  22. ok ,thanks ,we were a bit concerned that we had lost 7 years of contributions and yes we did pay full NI contributions. Will check out the pension service
  23. hi, maybe somedody could help me , my husband and I lived and worked in england for 7 years and then moved back to France, my question is when we get to retirement age are these years lost or do we have to claim for a pension in england ( or in france). Tried to find out before we left England but was met with a blank and unhelpfull face so I gave up. hope someboby can help
  24. I've spoken to merlin and will have micheal at the last minute so to speak that way jo can keep him for as long as possible,
  25. glad the day went well, I didn't come to the open day as I 've offered a home for micheal when the time comes ,this allowed merlin to offer a home to molly . hope you manage to save a few more, we adopted a dog at the spa 7 years ago, he had spent 4 years there , he was already considered an oldie at the grand old age of 7!! we love him to bits.
