  1. Check out the following link: http://www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/database/peshwarinaan_86757.shtml
  2. My wife has received a text message purporting to be from Nokia Finland to the effect that she has won £1,000,000 as part of Nokia's 40th year celebrations. The text was sent from a German mobile phone. It then asks you to respond by e-mail to a seemingly Nokia address. It's obviously a scam, but to what purpose? Has anyone else received such a text?

    Carbonate de Chaux

I always put the empty jars (without lids) into the microwave and heat on med. power for a minute or so. Check they're really hot, that'll sterilise them. Jams and pickles have always been ok.
  4. Lemon curd is delicious when used to flavour Greek style yoghurt and then churned in an ice cream machine to make a frozen yoghurt dessert. Much better for you than ordinary ice cream.
  5. We have a brown and cream coolbox too. We bought it in the Auchan Hypermarche at the Meriadeck Centre in Bordeaux in 1983 on our first holiday in France. It's still going strong here in Cyprus.
  6. Going right back to Dexter's original question - what is a ball park figure for PHI? I am 60yrs, no pre-existing health problems. I currently reside in Cyprus but really want to move to France. I'm trying to work out the differences in the cost of living to budget for such a move. Can anyone give me some idea, preferably in Euros.
  7. I live in Cyprus where solar panels are part of the building regs, you cannot build a property without solar panels. Daytime temps here are in excess of 40deg C for most of the summer. There is a pressure relief valve built in to the system which will obviously vent off any excess pressure. Some holiday homes here are empty for months at a time. Nothing happens.
  8. I'm hoping to move to France from Cyprus in the not too distant future. Can anyone tell me whether it is better to buy a good secondhand car in the UK or France, leaving aside the issue of LHD or RHD. I'm quite happy driving either.
