Worldwide postage rates from France online?

I've been trawling through the La Poste website to find worldwide postage rates for parcels of varying size. No luck so far! Can anyone advise?

Hi,

We sell on the internet to the French and had a simlar problem. Unlike UK, parcels seem to go on size as well as weight. If you packages can fit into a jiffy bag, with a depth of less than that of the french letter box, it is possible to use Lettre Post, if not there are various methods and costs for larger parcels. If you drop in to your La Poste and ask for Tarifs Colis ( parcels) and Tarifs Courrier ( most other things), you'll find all international rates inside the brochures.

I have to say that sometimes services differ between La Poste's. Seems some staff know more than others about postal methods. Our french neighbours confirmed this.

Thanks for that Tony and Sue. I keyed Tarif Colis into www.voila.fr and it came up with several freight/parcel shipping companies. Is chronopost connected to La Poste?

Will pop into La Poste in the morning for a leaflet on tarifs.

To be honest, I am not sure about Chronopost, could be something like Parcelforce in UK?. Sorry we cannot be more help on that one.

The tariffs are fairly well hidden!

Up to 2 kg you can send 'courrier' (letter) to most countries (3 kg in Europe & Africa). Over 2 kg it's 'colis' and is not too bad for Europe, Africa, USA, Canada etc. but a big jump for Japan, Australia, NZ.

Top link leads to a form to work out an individual item.
'Télécharger' leads to a page to download  PDFs of the leaflets for colis & courrier (the top link in each list), same as you can get at La Poste.

The bottom link gives you a tariff table and explains which countries are in which zone.

'Colis' is up to 30kg to most countries. All parcel services.:

Does anybody else feel like when you go to the post office they are alway trying to sell you stuff? I just went to sent a very small light present of some bibs for my niece which were inside the plastic presentation box they were sold in. I'd just put them in a big brown envelope, and the woman at the counter was quite iffy when I said there was no way I wanted to pay extra and get one of their bubble wrap affairs. It'll never get there, she told me. Well I am quite prepared to wait and see on that one, as the envelope she wanted to sell me cost almost as much as what was going inside it!
