Making payments

If it is anything like the UK you will need to visit your branch and sign forms to transfer money between countries.  I know when we moved to France I had to go into HSBC and do it in person unlike when I transferred money to other UK accounts which could be done either over the phone or on internet banking.  I would guess it is the same for most French High Street banks

And that is about all you can do with most CA internet banking facilities.  You will have to go into a branch to transfer money outside of your CA.

I feed my CA account via moneybookers, all done online; HSBC to moneybookers to CA.

I've never needed to transfer in the opposite direction online, but my understanding is that it is possible to transfer money by uploading cash into moneybookers using a CA debit card (presuming you have one).

The card fee is 1.9% which might be offset by the superior exchange rate.
