johnycarper
I know this has been discussed in the past but do all people have so much trouble getting cash out of their bank.we tried to get a large lump out but was told we can only have 1500 euros at a time,it is due to a new law just passed to stop money laundering we were told.Any suggestions how to get your money out without all the hassle or closing the account. [/quote]I don't know about other Banks but at La Poste you can take out up to 1500 euros on the day from an account but more if you 'book' the withdrawal 2 days before.Sue
Cerise
Yes everyone has that much hassle. But if you want a good excuse and reason why you want cash tell them cross border transactions (paying for your holiday in Spain or something similar). Fail to see why we should pay for cheques drawn in euros to another euro country. Shuts them up every time.
woolybananasbrother
You can in fact withdraw €12500 in one go if you wish. The banks are lying (jusqt plain lying) to you because they do not keep that much cash in hand. However the maximum you can pay in cash in any deal is €3500, including cars. Nick Trollope
Or 1.100€ to an Artisan or 9.995€ for a "commercial" transaction, etc etc...
