NormanH
I just came across this site which givea rather more flattering portrait of the urban hell I call home thanI usually do..http://lepetitbiterrois.info/beziers/?pages/Les-panoramasYou can just look at random, but I quite like: Some of the little quiet corners http://lepetitbiterrois.info/ville_beziers/lpb/jardins/jardin-saint-jacques/jardin-saint-jacques.htmlhttp://lepetitbiterrois.info/beziers/?post/2010/06/12/Villa-Antonine.http://lepetitbiterrois.info/ville_beziers/lpb/jardins/plateau/visiteduplateau.htmlThe Canal du Midi as it crosses theriverhttp://www.lepetitbiterrois.info/ville_beziers/lpb/lpburbanisme/pont-canal/pont-canal.htmlhttp://www.lepetitbiterrois.info/ville_beziers/lpb/lpburbanisme/pont-canal-bas/bas-pont-canal.htmlSome of the cultural events http://lepetitbiterrois.info/ville_beziers/2011/evenements/festa-d-oc/festa-a-capella.htmlhttp://lepetitbiterrois.info/ville_beziers/2011/evenements/les-chapiteaux-du-livre/rabhi.htmlhttp://www.lepetitbiterrois.info/ville_beziers/lpb/association/vernissage/lesartistesraisonnes.htmlhttp://lepetitbiterrois.info/ville_beziers/lpb/lpbevenement/lesalleesdesassos2010/assosallees.htmlThe marketshttp://lepetitbiterrois.info/ville_beziers/lpb/divers/marche_aufleur/marche_aux_fleurs.htmlhttp://lepetitbiterrois.info/ville_beziers/lpb/divers/marche-paysan/marche-madeleine.htmlhttp://lepetitbiterrois.info/ville_beziers/2011/evenements/saint-aphrodise/halles.htmlAnd quite by chance, since it isnowhere near where I live, a place where I worked for several years http://www.lepetitbiterrois.info/lozere/saint-rome-de-dolan/urbanisme/saint-rome-de-dolan.htmland finally mehttp://www.lepetitbiterrois.info/ville_beziers/lpb/lpburbanisme/madeleine/placemadeleine.html
just john
A great site Normy, I loved the panorama treatment, and it looks a lovely spot to be, certainly a reason to be cheerful, it's a wonderful life eh . . . and it reminded me of this rosy poem.Leisure - W. H. DaviesWHAT is this life if, full of care,We have no time to stand and stare?—No time to stand beneath the boughs,And stare as long as sheep and cows:No time to see, when woods we pass,Where squirrels hide their nuts in grass:No time to see, in broad daylight,Streams full of stars, like skies at night:No time to turn at Beauty's glance,And watch her feet, how they can dance:No time to wait till her mouth canEnrich that smile her eyes began?A poor life this if, full of care,We have no time to stand and stare. amos
We have a holiday house near Narbonne, we'll have to have another look up your way the next time we are over, it's a few years since we ventured up to Beziers but I have to admit my recollections were not of a particularly picturesque town, thanks for giving another perspective, love the 'panorama' view and the background sound.P.S. Is that you with your back to the camera in the last one Norman?
