Edit :  -  How does one (me) go about seeing if a doctor is OK? Can I just make an appointment and go without changing anything to do with our present doc?

You can see any Doctor you like if you pay for the consultation without changing anything. You may not be reimbursed by the Sécu or your Mutuelle, or not fully though if it isn't your médécin traitant that you consult.

Are homeopathic practitioners actually doctors in the sense of having a proper recognised medical qualification from an accredited establishment?

After all, you don't see 'Homeopaths Sans Frontiers' rushing out to Africa to treat Ebola victims

One of the doctors in our practise here offers homeopathy.

I expect there are others who are just "homeopaths", not doctors. As are some pharmacists, as Norman said.
