Baz
It is an Insurance requirement to have your chimney swept at least once a year and have a certificate issued by the sweep as proof, so why not just ask your neighbours or go to the Mairee to get the contact of a local sweep.Baz

RayB
[quote]Thanks for reply Baz i have learnt something new today! Will
It wasn't actually such a silly question. Chimney sweeping kits, and even the blocks you can burn in the fire to clean the chimney, often come with certificates you can fill in and send to your insurer to prove you have swept it yourself.Of course, as often discussed on this forum, anybody carrying out a trade in France has to be registered, but that's a different question altogether.Roofers often sweep chimneys too - 'ramoneur' or 'ramonage' are the words to look for. I1
Many fuel suppliers will also sweep chimneys (or have somebody to do it for them). Check in Yellow Pages (Ramonage)
