Reclaimation yards

Does anyone know of the whereabouts of a reclaimation yard "somewhere near Limoges"?

I have been told it is North of Limoges and visible from the N20 but we can't find it!!

My builder thinks ther is one there too as we want to find an old front door.

There are a few around the Limoges area but most do not compare to the english variety - heavy on stone but much less on doors/timber etc.

There is quite a big one on the N147 to Poitiers but can't recall if its before or after Bellac (sorry).

Try looking on the uk salvo site (www.salvo.co.uk) which has a pretty good search section for French yards.

Not sure but he may be thinking of Batisolde - its on the D220 near Maison Rouge north of Beaune les Mines. For details of Trocs etc there are some listed on www.golimousin.net. along with a whole host of other info.

There is a reclamation yard (English run, since end of 2004), just outside Confolens (if you stray far enough from the A20!).

Can't say much more as I've never been there.

However, drop off the A20 at 27 heading north and head towards Razes. There's a big depot on the left that's full of 'stuff'. Root through the place. It's a bit like the first time you open a Screwfix catalogue. Timber, fencing, metal 'bits' etc.
