We did it one year in a bright-green Porsche 911 (known as Kermit) but there was no time for a shower...Mind you, that was before the tunnel, so I suppose it IS possible now, yes? cooperlola Posted December 10, 2006 Share Posted December 10, 2006 Deffo. No excuses now! We managed to get back to Kent easily, leaving after the race. The tunnel makes a great difference, but even by boat it's manageable. The new motorway is really the key to the speeded up trip - it takes me 4 hours from my place to Calais, so add two or three hours for extra traffic. It was very weird in those days to think that you had been in Paris last evening and now you were in London, but now it's commonplace.When I retire we can go out en masse, stop at our place for a few days before and after the race and generally act in a relaxed manner.
