Lisa
Is there anywhere that I can find out how much the tax fonciere is for a property. I have been given 3 different amounts from different agents
EuroTrash
You could ask to see last year's avis sent out by the tax office. If the owner agrees to let you have a copy of that, you would just need to check that they didn't have reductions applied that you wouldn't be entitled to. Gyn_Paul
Speaking of reductions.... is it true that when both partners in a household with no other occupants reach retirement age they don't pay Taxe Fonciere? I had an idea that this only applied to some because it was income-dependent, but a friend seems to think it applies to everybody.anyone know for sure? The taxe d'hab can even be completely wiped out for those on a restrained income. But I have not heard the same for the taxe fonc except for those over 75. Upon reaching retirement, and receiving our S1s, my OH and I had a 100 euro reduction in the taxe fonc in one low-income year.
