What a strange reporter, describing the 2CV as 'mythical' (synonym - 'fictitious'), it was a very real car as far as I recall !!!!

I fear France has a long way to go in understanding what green motoring means. Not only do they insist on keeping elderly cars going - with increasingly bad emissions, of course - but who can guess how much fuel is burnt every day in rural areas keeping the family in fresh bread for every meal?

The original article was in French. Mythique is used in the same way in French as "legendary" is in current journalistic English. It just means very famous.
