I watched the channel 4 documentry on the running of the Clermont Club This showed how new decks of cards were rolled then re sealed so that a card new out of a sealed pack coming out of a shoe had slight bend in it if it was a picture card.. Some people still think such a gent could not possibly associate with a gangster and cheat them out of hundreds of thousands of pounds..There must have been others who watched and learned for the first time their homes ..and estates and inheritance was stolen from them by Aspinall and feel sick now ... I still think he got Lord Lucan who it appears worked for him as a house player out to Africa ...And they called themselves gentlemen !

An old friend of mine was at school with Lucans son and became good friends. Certainly up until about 15 years ago his son always got a birthday card from his father. Lucan and Aspinall where good friends and it was Aspinall who 'convinced' the world that Lucan was dead, jumped of his motorboat in the Channel in 1974 with a stone wrapped round his waist. Strangely enough in an interview back in 1980 with Lyyn Barber he talked about him in a present term and of him still being a friend. These people spin very complicated webs.
