The EU et al

Maybe Sarkozy has got more things on his plate than many people, especially in France, appreciate. It is not all those sex shenanigans, not even any jibes from Berlusconi nor lectures from Angela Merkel but the seeming decline of French cars. China is lapping up those German models quicker than they can be delivered amd even taking a lot of 'ours' in the form of RR, Jaguar/LandRover and Mini. Sacre bleu! What ever next? Well, perhaps a quick shufti at their banks might give a clue. That, plus a few other unfortunate matters that they like to ignore, has lead the markets and particularly those pesky credit rating agencies to hint that France may be about to lose its AAA rating. Now that could be very interesting, apart from taking thoughts away from the euro problem.

There is no seeming about it they are in decline. Peugeot wrecked a good reputation for reliability with an ill advised move to structured wiring and dual mass fly wheels and Citroen shared the same problems plus a few of its own devising. Is that a Plurial or a Pluvial.

Renault finally seem to be reaping the benefits of being France's Ford. The Twingo II faired so badly at the clinic that they hastily redesigned it be a standard Eurobox because real men would not be seem dead driving it.
