suein56
I received a similarish email purporting to be from Halifax* - so I forwarded it to their phishing dept and then I deleted it.* I don't have a Halifax account so it was easy to spot the scam.Sue [:)]
AnOther
Even if you get mail from an institution you do have an account with claiming similar then it is 100% guaranteed to be a phishing scam. The warning signs are always there in plain view if only people would apply the tiniest degree of common sense. For starters, apart from the fact that no bank would ever contact you this way for this reason of course, simply ask yourself why would a highly important personal email be addressed to 'dear customer' or some such and not to you by name ?I get occasional non critical mails from the Nationwide and each time they are addressed to me by name and also includes the UK postcode where my account is nominally registered.
