sturner Posted April 5, 2006 Share Posted April 5, 2006 We had to get a document witnessed here a few years ago and were told that nobody in france could recoginse a British passport therefore could not sign that we were who we said we were. However we went to the mairie who after looking in the biggest book we have ever seen confirmed that they couldn't do it, stamped and signed the document as we didn't just walk away and it was a private matter. But if you have to have a legal document notarised, you go to your nearest Notaire, and ask them to do it. It is very simple and I have done it and it is free.
