pachapapa
On Sunday evening and continuing next weekend, the third season of "A French Village" will be shown on France 3. This autumn, there will be 12 episodes covering the second year of the second world war complementing the 12 episodes shown last year. For any one wishing to get an idea of life in an occupied french village in the Juras during the occupation, this is about as close as one is likely to get. There will eventually be a total of 60 episodes covering the 5 years of the war.http://www.a-suivre.org/levillage/article.php3?id_article=2144http://www.programme.tv/un-village-francais-3134847.php

mint
Oh goody...I had such a problem following the dialogue last year that I am looking forward to watching this year to see if my understanding has improved.

pachapapa
Tonite Sunday; another two installments of "Un Village Francais".A small point at the end the transmission there is a short historical résumé pertaining to the particular time during the war supplemented by live testimony from witnesses of the war years; they add a useful measure of authenticity to the series. On at 22:15 and only lasts for 10 minutes; this week will consider the commencement of the "spoliation" of jewish assets prior to deportation, more correctly the "aryanisation" of jewish assets. Just desserts according to the plot of last week where a staunch believer in the Marechal stormed out of the village cake competition when a scheming jewess won the competition after allegedly using black market glacé cherries.http://www.programme.tv/un-village-francais-ils-y-etaient-3166737.php

That aside it really does help with understanding what's going on.FairyNuff
mint
Ah....didn't know there were subtitles! Don't laugh! I'm just less than clueless when it's anything mildly technological. So, what button do I press?[8-)]
