crépuscule
I'm getting organised to holiday in France. I have a pile of left-over Euro coins from my last visit, mostly very small denominations (2c, 1c). Are these still used in France? If not, what is the smallest denomination coin that is acceptable? TheVicar
That's always struck me as a curiosity with French people. They never seem to give the odd cents when the situation arises. I used to put all mine in the stamp machine at La Poste, but then they put a sticker over the 1c and 2c 'coins accepted' to suggest the machine no longer accepted them (but I know it does[:$]). Perhaps that's what the French were doing with all theirs as well and filling the machine to the brim with copper.
chrisb
You don't seem to see the charity boxes that are so common in UK shops and into which people seem only too pleased to offload their small change. Is it that French charities haven't thought of the idea, or would the shops not allow it?
