fill yer boots

now, we all know that the french say bon apetit just before tucking in to a meal. i've often been asked what the english equivalent is and been very embarrassed - we havent really got one and the french wonder if that's because we english dont have any food worth eating. "good appetite" or "enjoy your meal" somehow dont really have the same ring.
a good friend has come up with "fill yer boots" which seems perfect. now, wherever we go to eat (even in a restaurant) we use this phrase quite loudly and are hoping it will catch on. we need all your support out there. just think how proud we'll feel if a french person announces before a meal:
mais on angleterre on dit "fill yer boots" n'est-ce pas?"
we'll know that it is our very own LF phrase.
anyone game to try?
go on, go on, go on!!!!

Good idea Polreyt. Made me laugh after a very tedious afternoon at URSSAF. Don't think we'll be able to afford to eat in restaurants in future, after today's fiasco. But thanks very much for cheering me up. And if anyone treats us to a meal, I'll make sure we use the "English equivalent"
