Tourangelle
yesterday I saw a book in French on making trifle. It was called trifles and had a little asterix and dessert anglais pas mauvais du tout written underneath! Incidently my brother in law was abusing English cooking yesterday and was forced to conceed British superiority on puddings. (we were talking about proper puddings, not the nasty thing they call pudding here!)
Christine Animal
...and I'm not surprised that TU's crumble is such a success here, with a recipe like that, a sort of mélange between tatin and crumble. Shame you can't send it by email!
Teamedup
Tourangelle, no one ever criticises english cooking to me anymore, such is my reputation. I love John Tovey's recipes and they have impressed many a french person.
