hello Dago

Beautiful picture!   I posted mine last week of the sunrise from my garden in 61 a couple of weeks ago, mainly because in UK you never get to see such a gorgeous sight, especially here in the outer suburbs of London where everything stays a kind of fluorescent orange from the street lamps.  Mind you, here when its "Red Sky in the morning....." invariably it does turn into a foul day - or perhaps thats my imagination because I really don't want to be here any longer.

Can't help with a thread either. I am totally useless with computer thingys but I loved your picture anyway.   (I had my Aurore de l'Orne photo enlarged so I can appreciate it whenever I sit at the dinner table, wishing I was there rather than here).

A bientot!

Thanks Moya,

sorry to say that the same follows here too, after that wonderful start the day turned into incessant rain! We made our move 5 years ago from SE London and I know exactly what you mean with the permanent glow. Where is your photo posted, I'll go and have a look.[:D]

best regards

And as as an additional bit of info re my glorious Orne Sunrise

My son very kindly "lent" it to his friend who is studying photography at College and it won first prize in their Landscape category at the end of year exhibition.

Obviously I am acclaimed photographer now, disguised as an 18 year old lad.    The Phantom Photographer as it were!

Noone seems to post any pics nowadays.  Those sunrises are two years old, so here are a couple of fresh ones taken a few weeks ago.

They were both taken at 6.15 at a few days interval, just different weather.

Framboise - What a fabulous photo....

And an explanation for the sky colour -   a volcanic explosion in the southern pacific has sent clouds of ash and dust up into the atmosphere and been blown across the Atlantic and Northern Europe.

Apparently the sunsets for the next couple of weeks should be pretty special.

And you've managed to catch one....excellent....let's see some more !!!

Regards - Chessie
