Stair kit

Having bought what seems to be a well produced oak stair kit from Brico depot I'm now about to put the thing together

It looks as straight-forward as any such undertaking might be but I just thought others on this forum might have assembled such a kit and would ask if they have any tips or tricks to make the thing easier and less likely to creak in years to come?

Hi Rob, a lot of staircase kits seem to creak later on.

I would be tempted to fix it together with a bead of polymer mastic between the the joins at least then it might not creak.

Polymer mastics are available in a wide range of colours to suit.
