Weed wand

Does anyone use a Parasene Weed Wand?  I was given one while in the UK minus the gas cylinder.  I bought a butane cylinder that fits OK but I have never had it running correctly.  The piezo igniter does not ignite the gas and lighting it manually at the end does not give the desired effect.  I have tested the igniter [off of the wand] and it appears OK.  Is the genuine Parasene gas something special and, if so, is it available in France?

Parasene's gas is propane/butane so I can't see why one or the other from another manufacturer should not work provided it has the same fitting.  I don't think the brand Parasene is widely available in France.

I have a couple of blowtorches with a handful of various gas bottles, including a Parasene one, and they all fit together and work exactly the same.

I too can't imagine why the gas in the Parasene bottle should be any different from the others.

I use mine with any gas canister that fits, usually the cheapest I can find.  I've never had a problem with the gas or the flame itself but the igniter does tend to be temperamental.  Unscrew it and take it apart (make a note of where the screws and spacers go) and clean out any dust or debris.  It's not a complicated device.
