Chris & Mike Posted March 16, 2007 Share Posted March 16, 2007 We are a married couple in our early 50s who have sold our UK house and are in France for the next 2 weeks looking for a house to rent for 4-6 months. Our wish list is as follows: Detached, furnished, rural / semi rural property with a minimum of 2 bedrooms, central heating, telephone / internet connection, garden and not on a busy road as we have a cat who we would want to bring with us. We are currently in Haute Garonne but will be travelling to Aveyron tomorrow then Correze the week after. The areas we are considering are Haute Garonne, Gers, Tarn, Aveyron, Lot and the Limousin (any department). We can be flexible with our dates but need to find something pretty soon or we will be camping out! Thanks in advance - any help will be much appreciated. Although our rental contract is for 3 years we can leave at any time giving 3 months notice. Every estate agent has property to rent - do they not accept rentals of 4-6 months? Or is it just because the OP is being too particular in their requirements (maybe the agents take it as a 'must' list rather than a 'wish' list) and no such properties to rent exist? [cassis][/quote]3 years - by law.OK, there can be exceptions (especially for furnished accomodation, which is a different ball-game) and the tenant can leave at any time by giving three months' notice (but you wouldn't expect there to be too many exceptions to the rule of law).
