ams
We went to our local GP a few days ago, the charge is now €25. Is this the correct amount, we thought it was €22. ams
Will
According to the www.ameli.fr website, it is still 22€ for a normal visit to a généraliste.
Clair
It is €22 if the GP (généraliste) has agreed to the Sécurité Sociale scale of fees (conventionné de secteur 1).If the GP is conventionné de secteur 2, he can charge what he wants, but the reimbursement will still be based on the SS scale of fees.It could be that the doctor is not a généraliste (GP) but a specialist, in which case the basic fee is €25.from Ameli.frDans le cadre du parcours de soins coordonnésTarifs des consultations du médecin traitant (applicables au 1er juillet 2007)Médecin consulté Tarif Base duremboursementTaux de remboursement Montant remboursé*Généralistesecteur 122 €22 €70 %14,40 €Généralistesecteur 2honoraireslibres22 €70 %14,40 €Spécialistesecteur 125 €25 €70 %16,50 €Spécialistesecteur 2honoraireslibres23 €70 %15,10 €
ams
Our docter is definitely a GP. We have been with him for 4.5 years and he has always charged us the standard fee except this time. On the last visit he did not do anything different. The service is always excellent and we will not change, it is just we were a little surprised. ams
ams
The OH talked to some friends who were at the surgery at the same time as us. (english couple). They were charged €22 for his services, She said that if the doctor converses in english then he charges €25. ams
Sunday Driver
Although I speak French, my doctor likes to practice his English on me - he has several expat patients, none of whom speak French. Do you think I should get a 3€ discount for this?
Chancer
Cynthia Payne used to charge lots of money for "French" [6]
ams
Perhaps the reason he speaks english to you could be that he thinks that your ability to speak french to him is not quite as good as you think it is. On the other hand if he was to give you a €3 discount would this amount to a business and therefore attract the attention of the inspector of taxes. c'est possible. ams
ams
Mind you one would have to be "conservative" to avail of her services. ams

odile
Very cheap, me thinks! How much does it cost for a haircut where you live (and does your haridresser speak English).
