Alice telephone query

I have alice broadband and use a telephone to make free alice calls which is plugged into the alice box.

I have also kept the FT line, using a cordless phone with an extra handset.

All works well apart from when I receive a call on the FT phone, the alice phone rings as well. This does not happen when the alice phone receives a call - the FT phone does not ring.

Is this normal?

That's how it works on ours too, always taken it as normal.

I'm moving into my French home next Friday and will be looking to get telephone and broadband as soon as poss. I've been looking at all the special ex-pat systems offered but have never heard of 'Alice'.Can someone enlighten me please?

Hi PP, Alice is Telecom Italia, they took over/merged with Tiscali. Not a bad service, at least comparable to other providers. If you should have a problem, at least it's a free to call them.
