Firefox/Bookmarks

Stupid question (probably) from a non-technical person. [:)]

I am using Mozilla Firefox and my list of Bookmarks is getting out of hand i e very long and all mixed up alphabetically and topic wise.

If I go Bookmarks...... Manage Bookmarks there is then an option called New Folder. Will this allow me to group pages on the same topic i e weather, banking, translating etc so that on my Bookmarks list only Topic appears but a list of the pages within that topic is in a sub listing?

I could try it and see but if I make a b*lls up I'll then have to do a system restore so it's quicker to ask the question here. [geek]

That's how I have set up all my bookmarks.

I have a French admin folder (CAPM, Impots, ASSEDIC...), a PC tips folder, a banking folder... and each one contains the relevant bookmarks.

Try to remember to create any new folder from the BOOKMARKS (top) folder, but if you don't, they're easy to move anyway![:)]

Well that's done then: very neat and tidy. I'm just afraid it's going to encourage me to add more and more bookmarks. [:D]

Erm, well, my Firefox bookmarks has 12 folders and then a ton of stuff  en vrac afterwards - I don't like chucking things away you see so I keep them just in case [:$]

If you want to move a bookmark - say all is in alphabetical order except one - left click on it and drag it to where you want it to be.

To sort your Firefox bookmarks into alphabetical order, simply right click anything on the list and then choose "Sort by name".
