What's this?

I have had a  box come up on my windows screen called Registry Shaver, listing various USB devices and it won't close. Can anyone tell me what it is?

It seems to be linked to Fuji.

Thanks Clair, that makes sense as I have a Fuji digital camera. Still can't get it to do anythuing though![:@]

Do you know exactly when the box started popping up?  Did you install or uninstall or update any software on or just before that date?

You could try “Windows System Restore”.  This undoes any changes made to your PC by installing programmes etc.  It does not remove any files you have saved on the PC.

Windows System Restore is available on Windows ME onwards – Start | All Programs | Accessories | System Tools | System Restore.

Choose a date just before you added any software (if you did) or a recent “restore point” and see if it works.

It fixes a lot of problems!

If it doesn’t work you can “restore” your setup to today’s date and try something else.

You don't say what OS you are running however if it is XP if you press Ctrl+Alt+Del and then bring up the Task Manager under Processes you might see something named fuji or similar and if you do just highlight it and End Process. You can ignore any warnings of death, plague and destruction, it won't happen, honest !

You could also go Start/Run and type in msconfig where you will find listed all the programmes which automatically start up with the PC. If fuji whatever is there you can choose to disable it, you can always run it manually if and when you need it.

You will need this process if you ever want to uninstall your Fuji software, but not until then.
