Email problems-iMac

Hi everyone

I am having problems with my email. Everything was fine until last night, when incoming mail could no longer be received. I get the following error message. I haven't altered any of my settings. Can anyone help, please?

"There may be a problem with the mail server or network. Check the settings for account “mail” or try again.

The server error encountered was: The POP server “pop.tiscali.co.uk” doesn’t support X-APOP authentication. Please check your account settings and try again."

Hi,

I am not an imac user but this came up on Google, worth trying:

In Settings, Mail, "Account name", Advanced ensure that Incoming Settings Authentication is set to Password NOT MD5 Challenge-Response.
You need to check and correct this on each individual mail account.
