missing dog

Recommended Posts

Our Labrador did a runner this morning and OH has been out for four hours looking for him and friends in neighbouring villages as well. No sign of him at all and OH is going out again this afternoon. If we cannot find him what is the procedure, who do we noritfy that he is missing. We will put adverts in our local Supermarket and also in our Vets. We are  beside ourselves with worry as he is  a rescue and although we have had him for over three years he has always had a  wonderlust. I do not know if he will have the sense to find his wayback.

FOUND !!!!!  OH found him after his third trip out in the car and the Lab was caught up in hedgerow and looking very scared. Our garden is totally secure but his leaad snapped while OH was out walking him this morning and Murphy just legged it. Thank you, Russethouse, for the info.

Thank you and yes we are very relieved. What was so worrying was the lead that snapped was an extending one and he ran off with about ten foot of lead still attached to his collar. When OH found him he had got entangled in the hedgerow and was unable to move at all. As he was found really off the beaten track and a path that very few people would use, it does not bear thinking about and sheer luck that OH decided to go in that direction also the Chasse would be out and about on Wednesday as well.  He is one very  lucky dog and at present curled up in front of the log burner. I don't think wewill ever use an extending lead again.
