URGENT - foster or forever home needed ASAP for Felix, the Braque X (Cahors, 46)

Recommended Posts

Another URGENT call for a foster home (or a forever home!!!), this time for Felix. Felix is currently in the Refuge in Cahors but is finding life there increasingly stressful. He was found abandoned in July and arrived quite a happy chappy, but as time is going on, staff and volunteers have noticed he is becoming more nervous and anxious. Life is very difficult for him now - ever since he was adopted not long ago and very quickly returned because there was a cat in the family who took a dislike to him. Since then he has found Refuge life hard to support and everyone would like to see him get out and away to a new home as soon as possible, whether to a foster home or a permanent home, where he can get the one to one attention which he so needs. He loves to play and gets on well with his box companion, Garou (see photos). He is sociable and loves people. This young dog deserves the chance to find a happy home quickly - please!!! .

Felix is a Braque cross, about 2 years old, micro chipped (250 269500454 748) and vaccinated. This dog would make a wonderful family dog, all he needs is some patience, TLC, the usual training and to find his place in a loving home. No cats please - unless you are happy to introduce them carefully - we don’t want to risk poor Felix being returned to the Refuge a 2nd time!

Please get in touch if you could either offer Felix a foster home or, even better, a permanent home! Transport can be arranged.   THANK YOU!!

GREAT NEWS!!!! Felix has been adopted! Or I

should say re-adopted. The people who originally adopted him, and

brought him back because the cat did not like him, returned to the

Refuge. They had not stopped thinking about him it seems, and when they

saw he was still there, they were so pleased! They regretted bringing

him back so hastily, and so off he has gone for a 2nd chance - fingers

crossed all will be well now for this lovely dog and the cat shapes up!

Good luck to Felix and many thanks, as ever, to all the people who have tried to help him find a home.

Chrissie - that's Garou, a young Beauceron X - still waiting for his turn!!! Anyone who knows this breed will be aware what great dogs they are!!  He is a big softy, just needs his own home (and some training!) to make his life complete.

Garou is micro chipped and vaccinated.  If anyone is interested in him, please get in touch!!

INCREDIBLY BAD NEWS - for the 2nd time (and by the same family) Felix has been returned to the Refuge and re-abandoned!!! He was already a nervous dog, very stressed with Refuge life - what must he be thinking now. Unfortunately his old chum Garou was adopted a while ago, but Felix has found some solace with an old friend - another dog who has been waiting his chance to find a new home for a long time - Calès.

Pictures and further information soon... but if you could possibly offer 2 lively young dogs who enjoy each others company and would be so happy to join an active loving family, please get in touch as to how we can help these 2 dogs together... You may remember that we felt that Felix would have been happier to be adopted with Garou, who gave him confidence. Perhaps we can now achieve this for him with Calès.

Yes it’s bad news for Felix, but quite frankly he is better back at the Refuge, where he is happier to join Calès for company, and where he will be walked by volunteers. Following visits and investigations, it was discovered that the owners had given misleading information about their capabilities to care for a dog - Felix has not received basic training, is very thin and more nervous, has not been walked regularly on a lead even, and has often been kept alone shut in a garage without windows while the people were out. This is just not acceptable care for a dog in our book I’m afraid and we are very happy to have him back to find him a much happier life elsewhere! It is very upsetting when this sort of thing happens, but better he is back with us for now rather than left in a totally unsuitable home.

Felix and Cales are 2 uncomplicated dogs who just enjoy being together and would do well homed together with a loving family where they can feel safe, enjoy life and become part of that family.

Felix - looks relaxed and perhaps even relieved to be back - those eyes speak a million words!
