Gwenhwyfar Posted July 26, 2004 Share Posted July 26, 2004 We were going to have to have a loan to complete on our house in France before selling our UK house but it now looks like we may not need to do that as we sold our UK house in 12 days How do we do this though? We are due to complete on the house in France on 15th September, if we complete on our house in the UK on the same day how do we sign in two countries at the same time - can we give someone power of attorney in France? Re-arrange the dates to suit you, so that you can be sure the two dates don't clash and that you have the money where you need it, when you need it.You'll have enough to do as it is, without engineering problems. ChezShells Posted July 26, 2004 Share Posted July 26, 2004 LAST EDITED ON 26-Jul-04 AT 09:32 PM (BST)we was going for a loan prior to selling our uk home, like yourselves it turned out we didn't need to as we had a buyer, what happened then was we told the agents in france and as time went on we kept in touch by email and a completion date was set in france along with our uk sale but as it happend the france date was put back a week, also as moving out and in was hard we managed to get in our house in france a week early (as ealier planned) by agreeing we wouldnt pull out and pay the house insurance before moving in.Selling a house in the Uk is a little quicker than france or it can be anyway, you could try and get your completion in france done closer to yours in theuk or try and get the keys like we did.Good luck Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Gwenhwyfar Posted August 7, 2004 Author Share Posted August 7, 2004 The lovely people we are buying from in France are happy for us to 'rent' (no money will be exchanged) the house there before we complete so we can complete in the UK and move to France without all the headaches.
