We are moving to France in late July/August. We are planning on getting a puppy (probably before we leave) and taking it with us. He/She will probably only be 8-12 weeks old. Is it possible to take a pup with us? What are the requirement for injections etc etc to get him/her into France?Any advice would be appreciated. hoverfrog Posted March 23, 2007 Share Posted March 23, 2007 our puppies here had to be over 6 months for the vaccine, then it's another 6 months after the successfull anti-body test before they can go to UK.Coming the other way would be different - and it takes only to have had the jab to send a pup to USA for example!It's the import laws you need to know - they don't tend to care about export. My advice would be to get one puppy to start with, get on with housetraining, socialisation, bonding and basic obedience then once you've got this established look to getting a friend for your pup. If you do get two puppies you need to make sure that you have enough time to spend training, socialising and walking them invidually in order to get them to look to you as leader. I suppose it depends where you are going to live but in our area, Dept 17, there are all kinds of pedigree breeds you can buy plus places you can adopt. Good luck with it!
