It looks like I can get the long term parking sorted but now for the car, I want to buy in France and have been looking on French ebay to get some ideas of prices. I would like a left hand drive diesel version of either of these 3 A classes, are the prices comparable to the uk? The thing I get most confused with is that I only want the long wheel base version (LWB) but have no idea what this is know as in France and does anyone know what these levels of trim were known as in France? Questions questions!

I have had a good look at the Mercedes France web site

http://www.mercedes-benz.fr/

There are 2 versions of the A class available here, both have a wheelbase of 2568.  One is the five-door version - known here as the "Berline" and the other is the 3 door, called the "Coupe" here.  The website is very helpful and in effect allows you to put together an estimate for the model and trim levels you want.  It should help you out in identifying the cars on e-bay.

Thanks Coops!

Guess what the level of trim that I want costs loads! no surprise there then! I think they only make the long wheel one now, but the money we want to spend its going to be the older version[:(] unless an unknown benefactor just happens to make a donation[:)]
